Is there any call recording software that doesnt beep, and will let me dial out while on a call properly? The ones I have tried all put a recording window ontop so that I cant dial into IVR's, and some of them will beep all the time when on a call.

I want something that will allow me to use an IVR on both outgoing and incoming calls while still recording them silently. There seem to be heaps of call recorders and I dont want to download them all to try them so am hoping that someone has already found a winner.

Apparently for the older version of symbians it has to beep no matter which software you use and the recording is only 1 minute max

however the newer models like the n82,n81 n95 8gb doesnt beep and you can record conversation as long as you like until your memory card becomefull.

TotalRecall will record just fine, but it is always at the front so I cant type into IVR's or press to accept incoming calls coming from my asterisk box at home when its running - not a huge deal at the moment since 2talk will record the calls I send to the phone from home and I could always get asterisk to do it anyway, but I would like to get the direct to the mobile ones recorded too, and my outgoing calls that I dont use 2talk callback on (0800 numbers mainly where I really want a recording so I can go back later and get call center staffs names etc that I never think to note down at the time)

I highly recommend Alon MP3 Dictaphone.

It really turns your phone into quite an acceptable audio recorder, and will encode directly into MP3 at various bit rates. Call recording of unlimited length, and without beeps, is supported.

You can leave the application running in the background and record calls automatically if you wish. If you want to initiate the call recording manually, pressing the clear key will put the recorder window in the background so you can dial. Logging of calls by date is also supported, and there is an auto-archive feature.

It's US$29, and a 14 day fully functional trial can be found at

I've opted to go data only on it so I wont be making any calls - just couldnt bring myself to going on any of the vodafone voice plans at this stage with a new number. Will wait till after next month to see about bringing my prepay number over to it but for now another number was the last thing I wanted.

Roll on telecoms gsm is all I can really say ;)
