Jeffthechef:
dpw: I'd love to give a different product code a try but apparently it voids the warranty. Ah well...perhaps after the year is over...

Don't bother.

SW Version 210.21.006 has been approved by VFNZ and should be on NSU shortly.

Good to hear will keep checking about 5 times a day now

I'd just go for it and change the product code, did it for my N95, N95 8GB and several N82's. No waiting for V-Fone to pull finger, and less buggy Nokia firmwares to boot.

I'm debating doing this, looks like you can change the product code back as well if you need to send it in for repair...

Anyone done this on a nz new e71 yet?

I really want to f/w upg purely to fix the purple tinge in the photos.

I tried this with a product code I found on a blog posting somewhere but the NSU did not find an update for that product code. Perhaps try the product code posted in this thread - the generic Australian code?

I'm still waiting for VFNZ to release the 210.x.x firmware.

You can change the product code back, but apparently the Nokia Software updater logs your IMEI and the product code together, which they investigate when sent to a Nokia Care Centre.  I read this at Symbian Freak.  From what I understand however, you could find a copy of Nokia Care Suite and update the phone offline, which would leave no trace of you changing the product code.

EDIT: You also lose the Vodafone certificates on the phone, so MusicStation wont work.  Which is a small trade-off in my opinion.

Do you know if it is the latest f/w update or if it is the first release of v2?

I've got the 200.x.x firmware for an Aussie product code now, but couldn't resist checking for the 210.x.x firmware supposedly approved by VFNZ :o) Anyway, went to the website to check last night and this morning and got:

Sorry, there is no software currently available for that product code via the Nokia Software Update tool.

It used to just say latest firmware is 110.x.x - anyone else noticed this?

D.
