Hard to tell for this one as we haven't received any notification on an exact date ourselves.

Also important to note is that there are a few updates in the works. The one you're referring to is a major update with quite a few new features, however this won't be the first update to be arriving for the N8.

lyonrouge: Social updated today, not sure what it did, but I got an update

A few great new features in this one. Most blogs have documented it quite well, but here is a summary:

* Faster performance
* Caption your photos when sharing from your camera/gallery
* Better integration with contacts (display latest status update when viewing a connected contact)
* Retweet option on Twitter (true retweet, not just a copied update with RT slapped at the beginning like a lot of clients)

BTW, by 'we' above in my post about updates I mean Brent and myself, not Nokia in general.

Has anyone else noticed that Social is inserting 2 spaces between each word? I'm using it in landscape with Prediction, auto-completion off and Text Correction level at High.

oh, it's not a Social application thing, it's the keyboard in landscape with prediction turned on, at the end of the word it puts in an additional spqce, it does not do it with prediction off.

This is limited to the browser, and applications written in Web Runtime (which use the browser to render). I would say there will be a fix before long.

Note that if you submit the content the website at the other end will filter the extra spaces.

that stripping i think is what has hidden it from me, it's the social application posting to Twitter that gave it away.

Are the modem drivers for XP available separately or do you have to install OVI?

Bluetooth Modem drivers are generic so should just work. Via a USB cable if you don't want to/can't install Ovi Suite then change the USB mode to 'Connect to Internet' on your device and it will load up the dedicated Nokia Internet Connection software on your PC from the N8's mass memory.

If you're looking to set up a Bluetoth connection to your PC be aware that not all bluetooth is created equal. I had a nightmare setting up bluetooth on my wifes laptop to get it to work with her E75 and Ovi.  I tried 3 different USB dongles before I got one to work and then I had to update to a paid version of the dongle software to get it work properly.  It now works very well.  Let me know if you need any pointers.

The nightmare goes much deeper than BlueTooth, although I did get that to work on XP using an Asus USB-N10. Now I want to run an ISA firewall on Win 2003 on VMWare Server, using the N8 as the Internet Access point. OVI is not supported on Win Server 2003. The challenge I'm now facing is the following message from teh Nokia PC internet access screen "Installer has found some installed components which are older than those in the devices memory. These components will be updated." and it is stuck at 0%.

So I installed the connection software (still not drivers, but some sort of client software) on Win 7 and can now present "Nokia Modem" to the virtual host, but it now requires the actual drivers, I guess these could be obtained from Windows Update but as I don't have the internet connection I can't use that, how do I get the modem drivers as a separate download?
