I don't use either MP or MC. I developed my own. I just use MC for testing as EPG Collector has features for importing directly into it.

There are no categories or genres broadcast with the MHEG5 data.

If you switch on the metadata lookup in EPG Collector you will get genres added to the programs but they probably won't match what MP is expecting which is probably the EIT genres.

It's a problem I'm thinking about as it applies to colour coding in MC as well.

watman: There is only "record series" on the TVNZ brand channels not on the Mediaworks or Kordia ones
Trysetting the 'Flag all programmes as part of a series' in the WMC options on the Output tab.

Hi SJB

I have tried that setting and also any settings mentioning anything about series.

Woah is me, Ill give it another day and I may have to revert to 3.1 at least I know it works wit my set up.

I'm pretty sure my setup is pretty vanilla, Windows 7 MC, MacroTube, CoreAVC and EPG Collector

samsam: yep those are my settings and it comes up empty each time...

What kind of LNB do you have?
I would suggest using 12750 instead of 11700 for the LNB switch setting. Otherwise if you have one of the Sky dual D1 + D3/C1 LNBs, you're probably unintentionally forcing the LNB to switch to the wrong satellite.

Upload the mxf file somewhere and post the link. The file is in the same place as the log.

I do have two cables running into the house from the satellite. I tried your suggestion but the channel scan still comes up blank. EPG in Media Center is working well.

Can you do a scan and then post the EPG Collector log file. Clear it first to keep the size down.

The channel scan in EPG Centre used tuner 1.

I notice in the screen shot you posted that you have 4 tuners (or is this a quad tuner?). Is tuner 1 the correct one?

Also the signal did not lock properly which might account for why it doesn't get any data at all.

You DVBLink scan takes so long because of the metadata lookup. Once your local databases are populated it should get a lot faster.

I've tried with the other tuners and get the same result. It is 2x Dual tuners, they all get reception as i am able to record 4 channels at once in media center

Hi SJB

Here's a link to the MXF file

https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=9C43DA81E65F469B!141

Just a brief update, I reinstalled 3.1 got that working 100% then went over it with 4

But still haven't got it working 100% though

TVNZ channels and Prime, programs that are on right now do not have a "record series" option but all programs after do.

Mediaworks channels, Maori and Choice have "record series" on every program

Radio stations, Trackside and the Asian channels do not have "record series" at all

Thanks for the help

I can answer that one.. on the Output tab tick Create data for channels with the same name. I had the same issue which SJB sorted with the that option. It is caused by the regional channels which have empty EPG data stuffing it up.

Media centre PC - Case Silverstone LC16M with 2 X 80mm AcoustiFan DustPROOF, MOBO Gigabyte MA785GT-UD3H, CPU AMD X2 240 under volted, RAM 4 Gig DDR3 1033, HDD 120Gig System/512Gig data, Tuners 2 X Hauppauge HVR-3000, 1 X HVR-2200, Video Palit GT 220, Sound Realtek 886A HD (onboard), Optical LiteOn DH-401S Blue-ray using TotalMedia Theatre Power Corsair VX Series, 450W ATX PSU OS Windows 7 x64

Not sure about Prime though - they only broadcast one channel, they don't do regional broadcasts.

Also the radio stations, Trackside and the Asian channels may not be broadcasting series links so the programs won't be marked as part of a series unless you tick Flag all programs as part of a series on the Output tab.

Try LNB parameters 1075/1075 and 0 in the switch for a channel scan.

Press the Default button a couple of times and they should be filled in for you.
