This is more of an FYI - after doing lots of research and finally buying a new TV (Samsung UA55ES6200) I thought I'd let everyone know that the web browser that's built in CAN play iSky. Sure beats having to hook up the TV to a PC/laptop.

That's all... just thought some of the iSky-ers out there would be interested. I know I would have been!

Thats awesome and good to know! I currently connect my S3 to our Lg "smart" tv to play isky (via MHL cable), its a heck of a lot easier than dragging out the desktop, but having the tv do it would be even better!

Can you give us a run down of your experiences using iSky with your Samsung TV?

It did take a little while (maybe 10-15 mins) to do all the updates to the TV firmware and the web browser, but once that was done it was as simple as browsing the isky.co.nz.

Logging in could be a pain using the remote unless you have a wireless keyboard (I picked up a Logitech K400 which has built in track-pad).

Once logged in it was a piece of cake, played flawlessly. I checked out a few other flash video streams and they all worked fine. I've not tried a 1080p stream yet, but I'll give it a go tonight.

Hope that helps.

Full screen works fine - I'm just working out an issue where it's playing the widescreen video in 4x3 mode. May be a setting on the TV.

Lucky you. I have managed to connect my PS60E8000 once to iSKY live sports. That was when I first got it and I managed to get the golf on it. I have since tried for every rugby game there has been on and it will never connect. I can log in and everything, just nothing will play.

Does the UA55ES6200 work with TVNZ On-Demand / TV3's on-line catchup service?
It'll be interesting to see if there's a TV out there that will do all 3...

I tried both of these last night. TVNZ On-demand refused to play, even though all other flash elements on the page loaded fine. TV3 catch-up would play the advert before the show, but then refused to play the actual show.

This may suck for some people, but to be honest I very rarely watch TVNZ/3 so it's not a big deal in my house.

Has anyone made progress with iSky on the Samsung SmartTV?  The preamble plays but the actual shows don't.

Have tried LiveTV and Catch-up shows.  Neither play.

I'm using the Samsung Wireless dongle, connected to an AirPort Express in the same room that is Cat5 connected to and ADSL2 router.

It's an EH5306M. I've managed to get LiveTV work. Tried to watch an episode of the EPL review. Preamble worked ok. Just got the circular arrow when it tried to play to programme.

Got this message from SkyTV support over the weekend.

"At this stage Internet TV is not supporting Flash or Java Script so iSKY will not be available via the Internet capable Televisions."

Not sure why the advertisements and LiveTV work but Catch-up TV does't.

I reckon it must have something to do with their adverts they put at the beginning of catch-up TV shows. When you play live TV it just starts the stream instead of trying to show you 2-3 ads before it starts.
