Hi headphone nerds.
I am selling my Topping DX7Pro Amp/DAC if any of you are interested:
https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=77&topicid=290130
Running a Topping A90/D70s stack now so surplus to needs - still an awesome device!
Anyone interested, the Topping A90 Desktop Amplifier (Universally incredibly highly rated) is $764 using code BFCM10 at TheMarket with free shipping.
Cheapest I've ever seen it and also, cheaper than importing it.
Sennheiser HD 599 Open-Backed Over-Ear Headphones for $199 at the moment from PB Tech.
PXC 550-II for $219 also.
I will be selling my solid-state Liquid Carbon X Drop Collab amplifier in the coming weeks. $260 + Shipping.
Single-ended and balanced. Powered by HD800S, Beyer T1 and HD650's perfectly. Sounds great. Have upgraded. I am not exactly sure what the ETA for the replacement is, early December and I want to listen side by side for a day or two and then it's available.

t0ny: Cables on my HD800 got damaged. Should I get the official ones or something else?
I'd probably replace with officials, but cables are cables beyond a certain point, don't get too carried away.
Anyone have any luck finding a Bluetooth USB Adapter that supports APTx and Ldac?

Long ago I also researched extensively this very topic, I think in general you would really struggle find anything available due to the license of aptx (and possibly LDAC?). However, if you are a user of Linux, then these codecs as well as AAC and SBC XQ are supported by modern Linux distros.

Thanks. That's kinda annoying. Considering it's supported on my phone!
Never mind! Can't do much about it.
Anyone ordered Sony XM5?
Received?
Please share your impressions and feedbacks
Hey all!
I am downsizing my stack and my Topping A90 and DX30Pro are up for sale in the FS Forums:
https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumId=77&topicId=298709
Item:
So I am downsizing my setup and my preferred headphones are so easy to drive that my current main setup is overkill - I am likely going to use me EX5 and maybe get a DX5pro at some point.
Amp is under 2 years old, mint with all original packaging. Bought from Addicted to Audio in town
DAC is around 6 months old - also mint with remote and all original packaging.
New the Amp is around $850 currently and the Amp about $650
Looking for $500 for the amp and $350 for the DAC - $800 for the pair.
Thought I would dig this out of the depths it fell into to see what is currently good in the wireless ANC headphone space, since there has been a few new products to market in the last 6 months.
In the New Year I am going to be travelling for work a bit more, so looking for a set of over-ear phones to come with me comfortable enough to use for extended periods of time (2hr train ride each way potentially), have good ANC performance, and reasonably good for video calls. I'm a lot less fussy about the music since that won't be the primary purpose, but not sounding like arse would be a bonus. As is par for the course, I only decided I needed to upgrade after all the Black Friday specials ended so looking to pick them up over the usual pre- and post-Christmas sales.
The frontrunner at the moment Sennheiser Momentum 4's since I'm a fan of the brand and they seem to review reasonably well. HN has them on a FOMO special of $467, up from the BF low of $438 according to PriceSpy.
I also see NL have the Bose QC45's on special atm for $385, but when I had a quick play at HN between the two, I found myself preferring the design and feel of the M4's. Unfortunately I didn't have time to have a good back-to-back listen, which I'll get to at some stage.
Anybody had experience with the M4's? Any other models of comparable price/performance I should be looking into?
