Thank you both. Not the advice my wallet wanted to hear but it now makes sense that everything else is a compromise. I can at least stop wasting time looking at alternatives and just get the best tool for the job.

you are going to spend a lot of money travelling. this is a small price to pay and you get to keep it for years to come vs hotel you only spend 8 hrs sleeping in.

Anything you can do to make your longhaul flights more enjoyable and pass-by quickly is a small price to pay.

Where does one buy Sennheiser spares from? I've been to half a dozen shops and emailed the distributor twice. With no response.

I just want to get genuine replacement ear cups for my PXC 550s!

Im no audiophile but I wear heaphones all the time so I normally aim for decent build quality and comfort, I also have a large head (63cm)

Ive been using a set of Bose QC35s for years which are still fantastic, though I have to replace the foam pads yearly.

I think I chatted online via their website and ordered a pair (NC700 earpads) and got them shipped (it was a warranty in the end, but they did try to charge me to start with)

In the past when there did not appear to be any stock in NZ for my HD600 parts, I have twice ordered from Sennheiser and they have shipped from Australia.  There was quite a delay  last time (during covid) - 2 or 3 weeks as I recall.  I just called their 0800 number.

I've just bought a pair of Momentum 4.

This was after reading reviews which said the Sony had a slightly better sound quality, but the Sennheiser had a more robust build quality.

So far I'm pleased with the sound but haven't tried out the 3.5mm wired connection.

These are for long haul (UK to NZ) in early February 2024. Well, that's my excuse....

Previously (decades) I have had some Sennheiser HD25 SP which have always done well, and are still very good but I thought I would treat myself to some noise cancelling to see if it made much difference.

I will report back after further use.

Anyone interested in a (practically) brand new pair of Focal Bathys for $750?

Bought them in the Addicted to Audio sale and whilst they are very good, they are not quite as much of an improvement on my APM as I was hoping and don't compete with my 109 Pros for home listening, so they are not really going to fulfill the use case I had planned!

Unpacked, updated and used for about 4-5 hours total and only inside.

Absolutely as new with all accessories and packaging etc.

Look forward to hearing your experiences with these.

By all accounts, not as good on the noise cancelling, but with a unique sound profile.

So surprisingly, after picking them up in the A2A sale, I have decided I like the Focal Celestee better than my Meze 109 Pro and will likely sell the latter!

Anyone here potentially interested in a mint, 4 month-old pair of 109 Pro?
