Suggestions for these appreciated.

After a good ol' googling session, I'm going to purchase a set of these Advanced 747 units for around $120NZD.

Just realised that my Massdrop Sennheiser 6XXs haven’t been taken out of their box since last year, so I should probably sell them on rather than just store them :)

I’ve probably only listened to them for three hours in total, and although they are definitely better than my 598SEs I just don’t use them. Basically the tiny portable dac-amps I normally use aren’t enough to make the 6XXs sound better when I’m on the move, and thanks to a new home speaker setup, my static use of headphones has basically stopped.

Looks like they sell for low-$400s on trademe (probably because they’re effectively the HD650 without the excessive NZ RRP), so I will probably put them on there in a week, but if anyone wants them beforehand, I’ll sell them for $300+shipping (or I can drop-off in central Wellington).

That's a good deal! I have original HD650's or I might have considered it, but with now 11 pairs of headphones in the house, another pair may mean something other than my headphones are hanging off my headphone standard when my wife discovers them.

I understand - I think I'm in double-digits with cameras, headphones and various computers and probably have more speakers than rooms, so it's past time to start clearing out the office and garage :)

I would like to buy these.
I work in Wellington CBD, so can meet during lunch. Or I’m going to be in town on Saturday and Sunday.
Cheers.

After a good ol' googling session, I'm going to purchase a set of these Advanced 747 units for around $120NZD.

So I got these.  A big chunk of the cost is shipping, as they didn't offer a cheaper version unfortunately.

So far am happy with them, but I'm taking a while to step through the included ear tip options to see if I can make them fit naturally.

And the distance from the (albeit small) power box to the earpieces isn't very long, so they pull out of my ears if I put that in my pocket as well.

Response wise, they sound good, although the mid section is not as bright as I'd prefer.

Noise cancelling works well, but it's one of those systems fundamentally targeted to low aircraft type rumble.  That's fine for what I need, but in a lot of cases (office/some conversation noise on bus etc) they don't block much noise.  It's an all or nothing on/off switch, so not like the systems with awareness mode options.

Quality is really good.  13mm driver, so base response is good but controlled and doesn't over power as much as I'd expected, which is a good thing.

Happy for the price, and good to see some new options in this range above the many years old budget options I originally thought I was limited to on my budget.

OVC H15 were the other new option in this price bracket as well.  One day I might give them a go also.  They use a twin driver option, and have modes that use one or both for music and for noise cancelling duties etc, so quite technically involved for ANC choices etc.

Again, cool to see options in this field.

I have a pair of these as well that I am looking to sell. I purchased them last year and they are still in the box unopened. I purchased them on impulse, but alas I can use the money from selling these for an upcoming holiday.
I was going to chuck them on trade me, but am willing to try on here first.
I'm looking for $400 including free shipping anywhere in the country.

Heh I'd love to try a pair to compare to my actual HD650's, but yeah, can't justify buying a pair just for that :)

Been a little quiet lately.

I have been back playing with my Siberia 800's gaming wireless headphones. Not happy with the "distance" in the surround sound, it all sounds too close to make out discerable differences.

I am going to have a sale of my gear though. What I am considering selling:

QC25 - About 20 hours on them. In their original case.

My Sony PS4 Headphones, will post details shortly.

a Pair of Sony Bluetooth Headphones. pretty sure I have a box for these too.

Some Blackbox M10 over ear NC headphones, which still have a case.

Logitech G930 wireless headphones.

Making room for some new headphones (shh don't tell my wife).

Anyone know where I can get a barely used cheap pair of HD598s?
