Do anyone know where to get those HD6xx HD650 cables in NZ or else have to buy them internationally? Would prefer the 3.5mm jack than the 6.5mm since I mainly use it on PC.

Search for "Sennheiser hd650 cable replacement nz" and you will find some sources.

Cheapest in NZ seem to be "The AV Store" - Don't know them, but their prices seem to match well with Sennheiser offical retail price.

I see Fishpond have cables, but at almost double the price.

Yeah I did found The AV Store as well, those are 6.5mm jack and their 3.5mm jack is $50. Just wondering there be any other stores have them.

Seem like there's not many stores have them in NZ at all.

Before you get a new cable, find the instructions online for disassembling an HD6xx and take it apart and inspect the socket.  Or verify that it is the cable by using a resistance test on a multimeter.  It can be that the plug on the cable is not making contact with the socket properly, rather than the cable is broken.  I have had both happen with my Sennheiser HD600s.

I had a Sennheiser HD6xx that I get from Drop years ago, but sadly one of the left ear wires seem to gone bad. So no sound coming out now and if try to wiggle the wire a bit sometimes in some position it will works a for a bit. But mainly stuck with the right ear working only.

I got a pair of HD6xx, one of the the first lot from Drop, and they ended up sending another cable a few months later. I think they said the first one was too short?. I've probably still got the original one at home somewhere, there weren't any problems that I can remember. I'll have a look tonight.

I must admit I'm a bit perplexed with the PXC 550 IIs. I've had them for about a fortnight now and I'm no audiophile and can only compare them to my Momentum On Ear headphones, but the sound is very flat. I realise that noise cancelling is a compromise, or is there a difference that the wireless PXC 550 II don't use the DAC on my phone like the wired Momentums?

I bought them specifically for the noise cancelling, which they do brilliantly. I just thought when I'd travel for work I'd take the newer headphones however I'm wondering if I'll take both now. The PXC 550s for the flight, then the Momentums for the rest of the week.

So I just filled my Open Back gap with a pair of Dan Clarke Audio (Formally Mr Speakers) Aeon 2 Open.

Love em! Glad I held off the LCD2 classics as I think these are better. Not as dark, but still on the warmer side and some of the most comfortable cans I have ever worn.

Recommended!

Personally I'd never take two pairs of noise cancelling for work... if flying.

If you're driving - hey, fill ya boots (or car boot)!

A pair of over-ear noise cancelling for the flight + a pair of true wireless buds for kicking around the hotel room listening to music / watching YouTube / taking phone calls, maybe?

Keen for some advice if possible. I currently have some Sony wh-1000xm2's but I find them very uncomfortable to wear after about an hour (they seem too tight on my head), and the mic quality is terrible for phone calls.

I'm looking for:

  1. Bluetooth
  2. Comfortable for wearing for long periods
  3. Good mic quality for phone calls (unlike the XM2's which pickup too much background noise)
  4. Supports simultaneous BT connections to multiple devices, eg listening to  music on laptop, while also paired to mobile. Phone call comes in on mobile, can answer that using headphones for mic/audio, then back to laptop for music etc once the call is finished.
  5. Nice to have: Noise Cancelling

Would the Sennheiser MM550's achieve the above? Are there better options?

Hol'up, they are opening in Auckland? Are they gonna have a NZ based online presence, or just the bricks and mortar?

While I'm passing by, I'm also just starting to dip into the desktop game and was looking at a Topping E30/Emotiva A-100 combo as a cheap way ($299 + $549 retail here, less imported) to get started with a mix of headphone/nearfield speaker usage. I know the E30 is brand new, but does anybody have any experience/thoughts with either?

I only have a pair of Sennheiser HD569s at the moment, but looking at upgrading them as a next step.

They will be selling online. Smaller subset of products compared to Australia at least initially while they work out the demand.

They have been selling on-line for what, a year now?

https://addictedtoaudio.co.nz/

But it's largely a clone of their Aussie site judging by the blurbs through out the site.

There's no address for the shop though.

Hello,

I'm looking to purchase an Audeze LCD-X with the revised headband. Just wondering if anyone here has one for sale. I'm currently situated in Auckland City.

Thanks.
