Instal fixpack 1 from the EPG Collector Files directory on Sourceforge.

Your current version of WMCUtility is failing as you need the Win 8 version.

You should also set the flag on the Output tab that says something like 'Create data for stations with the same name....' or something like that.

The disappearing EPG problem is definitely caused by the Automatically map EPG data to channels setting being on in EPG Collector. I'm not sure what's changed since the EPG Collector documentation was written - perhaps it's just WMC 8 - but the setting isn't actually necessary. Whatever's happening behind the scenes, WMC appears to match the EPG data to the correct channels itself. You don't need to match up the channels and listings manually in the Edit Channel / Edit Listings settings in WMC either.


I concur with the above quote.

I was having trouble with guide listings for some channels (Prime and Moari as I recall) only showing dots.
(Windows 7 32bit, EPG collector 4.0)
After reading this discussion I used the following method:
-Uncheck Automatically map EPG data to channels setting being on in EPG Collector
-Run the MCE Recovery Task in windows task scheduler (which deletes guide and tuning etc)
-Retune WMC, Run EPG collector, Setup WMC guide 

Guide has been running sweet for a couple of weeks now.

Thank you to the EPG Collector developer(s), this has been a most useful peice of software, it's much appreciated.

I'm interested to see how it can work if the data is not automatically matched and you haven't linked it manually.

Yes, I was surprised I didn't have to map guide to channels. I just had to disable to channels that I don't watch.

I really don't know how that is working.

I just set up a new MC database (deleted the existing one plus backup) and ran EPGC with no auto mapping of EPG and the guide shows No data available.
