Brilliant. Well done TVNZ. I just wish it was HD.

I wonder if other channels will follow?

Any info on which models are supported?

Audio is horrible on it, and its not even SD quality. At least a decent bitrate SD would be a good start.

In the "Smart Hub" under Apps, have a look at most recent.

I fully agree that the quality is not good. hopefully they improve that!

Exclusive to Samsung apparently... for a year.
Now I wonder if another brand will go after the MediaWorks app / exclusivity?
Either way, watching SD footage on a 55" LED = a bad time.

Of course with a separate Freeview Recorder the programs could be recorded off-air to be watched later in HD with 5.1 sound (except the SD programs) and not downloaded over the Internet in poor quality video and sound using up your Data allowance.

except that with 3tb drives being so cheap now there is nothing stopping them from basically doing a record everything approach.

With only 3 muxes to worry about it shouldnt be an issue even on crappy underpowered embedded processors like used in settop boxes.

People using these apps and not caring about picture quality is the reason the likes of SKY won't make channels HD especially Prime

Looks like only 2012 + 2011 models for the moment. Nothing on my 2010 C-Series set
