I've just brought one of these, and was wondering if it was safe to do software upgrades if required. I'm running - but want to be sure I dont lose funtionality if I upgrade.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Perfectly safe to do software upgrades. In fact they auto update the firmware and apps automatically in the background. You cannot really turn a Roku 3 off unless you pull the power cable from the back of it. I leave mine all the time and my firmware and apps get updated automatically when I am not using it since my device is connected to the network 24/7.

Do whatever you want to do man.
