Hi,

I bought a Roku 3,
Cool little device, just that its a paperweight over here, Yes i have tried the Unblock-us on the router, I used my Youshop postal address for the billing line.
So i link the device, Add netflix (Behind Unblock-US and Hola Unblocker): "We're sorry. At this time, we don't support adding channels from the web for your region."

So what do we do?

You need to make sure you are behind unblock-us when you register the device on the website or it detects you are not in the US
You might need to factory reset it and start the process again

Yup, Unblock-US has been in my Modem for 2 months now, My PC's were under it when creating. The Roku is on the same wireless.
Will try again.

Cheers

I have mine working through unblock-us and from memory it was to do with the postal codes used, the guide from unblock-us.com (can't access it at work) definately pointed me in the right direction.

Hi folks,
Bought mine from amazon and although I expected to not get Netflix etc, I am amazed at how poor some of the channels are. I mean, 90% of them are absolute crap with one I tried watching last night seeming to be made of stuff ripped from VHS tapes! :) I was also put off by the fact there is no browser built in and therefore no way of accessing any NZ content. I know I can do the unblock-us stuff to get Netflix but my question is is it actually worth it? Apart from Netflix, what other stuff appears when you fool the dNS etc?

Mine went back in the box about to go back to Amazon but when I seen this post I thought i'd enquire more into people's thoughts. Its a cool little device but the vast majority of the channels are crap and none of the movies or TV shows are recognizable...feels like its full of shareware or something :)

HuluPlus is the only thing I stream to my WD TVLive box (ruku equivalent), and of course content from my local network share.

Check the link someone made about how to get it to work. They are good little devices.
No browser but tis a platform that may expand. I use netflix mainly but there are other apps that are worth while.

Cheers

If you like movies, kids channel n documentaries = Netflix
TV series, telenovela, drama = Hulu Plus
Movies n more movies = Amazon prime (plus free book every month)
Random clips = YouTube

I also enjoy live RT news (whenever you want to hear the other side of story)

As noted, it is a good little box from what I have used of it. I agree the lack of youtube is a bit of a let down but there is rumours (nothing concrete) that they are hoping to get it soon.

Channels we have/use

Netflix - US TV shows and movies, huge catalogue
HuluPlus - US TV shows, often pretty soon after shown on US TV live. Also they have just got a decent amount of BBC Content on there which seems to be being added to often
Vudu - Movie and TV Rentals, often pretty soon/as they are on at the cinemas here (due to the US often getting the latest releases first)
Amazon Instant Video - Haven't used this much but seems to have a bit of stuff which the others don't
All done through unblock-us.com

also we have as channels

Plex - If you want to stream video from a local source check out www.plexapp.com and that should see you right
Pandora - as you expect it streams music

Hope that helps.
