blackjack17: PC would also allow powerpoints, music, slideshows, home videos, etc ...

Well we already have a Visual PC (lighting, EasyWorship [lyrics videos and powerpoint software] and slideshows) and is already setup with a triplehead2go and no spare expansion slots in it so would probably donate one of my spare pcs and get the appropriate bits if I went that path

Thanks for your help guys, has given me some options now to think over

If you have to run heating in winter, you don’t own enough computers.

I bought one of these new for $800

http://www.trademe.co.nz/electronics-photography/dvd-players-vcrs/other/auction-650004381.htm

For the exact same reason, 5.1 via rca. *just wanted to add this unit can output 7.1 via rca*

Cant go wrong with this player at that price.

excellent choice !

the bd80 and bd85 were panasonic's last nz market bdps with 5.1 analogue outputs.

slow loading and not very responsive but very good picture and sound quality.

$99 Veon player from the warehouse has analogue 5.1 out.
Also multizone Bluray, zone free DVD (need to enter menu to change BD region).
