Some vastly higher end gear then I would ever spend on display. Had no idea computerlounge sold it, always thought they were just a place that sold gaming computers.

In anycase will have to go to computer lounge to try some out when I am not conjested from the tail end of a cold and see how much better they sound.

Certainly some very nice gear on display. Most was well outside of my budget. Great to get the chance to test it all out though. I have a small list of items to save for. Well done Murray!

Thanks Stu!

All in all I was very happy with how the day went. Now, to organise next year's meet...

Speaking of Computer Lounge (mad props to Billy for his support), I think a larger premises with a dedicated listening room is in their future one day.

Terry from Audio Reference was great too, he was the one who let me borrow the $10,000 of speaker amplification I was running my HE-6 off. I'm still searching for the speaker amp I will settle in with for the long term, but the HE-6 still sounded pretty special with 200w per channel flowing into it.

There are some pictures at Head-Fi, I have some that I'll post later at some point (I work tomorrow).

EDIT: Some more pictures from an attendee here.

In terms of high-end gear:

Entire LCD range -2 -3 -X -XC, most of them with Alo Audio cables.

More HD800 than you can shake a stick at (seriously, at every single table)

HiFiMan HE-500 and HE-6

Denon 7000

Audio Technica W3000ANV and K812

Some high-end Grados (I didn't have time to check which ones I was seeing).

Beyerdynamic T1 and T5p

Alo Audio Studio Six Amp

Bryston BDA-2 DAC

Auralic Vega DAC (several)

Auralic Taurus MKII amp (several)

Auralix Merak monoblock speaker amps (my HE-6 headphones on these 200w/channel monsters)

Auralix Gemini - a headphone stand with DAC and 2W balanced headphone out (even a card slot so it can function as a total solution)

PS Audio Perfectwave DAC II.

Several Woo Audio amps.

Metrum Acoustics range

Audio-GD Reference 10

Burson Audio Conductor

High end Rega turntable (don't know model name)

AK 240 DAP

...and quite a lot of stuff I didn't even get to see being the organiser and kinda stuck to my table to supervise a volume knob to prevent mishap with the speaker amp!

http://www.head-fi.org/t/703390/new-zealand-meet-may-24th-in-auckland/330

some nice stuff.

small lulz at the ancient rega tt - i had one like that (nz assembled, linn arm) back i the 80s - through phones you heard every creak in the bearing, twang in the belt, snap crackle and pop in the vinyl.

good times, haha

Really sorry I couldn't make it, just wasn't able to shuffle everything accordingly unfortunately.  Sounds like everyone had a great time and props to Murray for brainchilding the event, it takes a LOT of hard work and a lot of time, both of which are in short supply!
