I have a small problem with NDSCam, HD/DVB-S2 channels play fine but none of the SD Channels seem to want to play at all. i have tried 3 different Sky Cards and every version of NDSCam along with 5 or so different programs, all have the same issue. i can post screenshots at a later time of the NDSCam related stuff (the sky cards that i tried were the blue ones)

any ideas as to why this happens?

Ok :-) I just thought that NDSCam wasn't being updated any more where as OSCAM is in active development; perhaps I am wrong though.

Oh, it seems like OSCam uses a server or something, i have a real sky card. not a server or whatever they are.

Are you using a CAM or USB card reader?

USB Card Reader, sorry should've said that in the first post.

Rightio :-)

Oscam is a card server, but can attach card readers (I use an Omnikey 3121 USB) to read different types of smart card.  Oscam then communicates to the MDApi Plugin using ACAMD (in my case) using various config files.  MediaPortal, Argus, DVB viewer etc using ACAMD in their plugins folders to communicate with MDApi and Oscam.

I use Oscam, Acamd, MDApi_plus and a custom MediaPortal build to view Sky NZ on my HTPCs.

Alright, so how do i get Acamd to recognize my USB Card Reader? this is quite confusing compared to NDSCam :)

I'm unfortuantely in the middle of some work so can't spend too much time here but to get you started.  It can seem quite daugnting at first but its very easy to update and quite powerful.

If your using windows only and no access to a linux machine then visit http://tekreaders.com/blog/oscam/oscam-windows/ to download the latest oscam install for windows.

Install following the normal instructions, you might want to search for running oscam on windows as a service so you don't have to worry about running it in cmd everytime.

Then you need to edit the oscam configs to point in the right direction.. I have some pre-made ones that I can share later on if you can't figure it out... With oscam setup its time to move to MDApi_plus.

Install that, if you haven't already and let it do its stuff with which ever tvengine your using, make sure it creates the appropriate directories that reflect each card/tuner you have.

Copy Acamd in to these directories.  Make sure the acamd.conf reflects the IP address of the oscam server (local or LAN/remote).

here is a link to two directories, one is a very old oscam for windows setup with appropriate config files.  The second is the mdplugins section for mediaportal showing the correct setup for ACAMD.  The only thing I don't have here is MDApi_plus as that configures itself.

https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=AABFBFAFB9BFA035!12552&authkey=!AEn17hyIczjAnXU&ithint=folder%2c

Again it might seem confusing, but Oscam/Acamd seems to work for lots of tuners and recording channels and will decrypt with a valid card all channels subbed to.

I can probably take a look tomorrow night via team viewer if you can't get it working and want to continue with it.

This is still really confusing, just to get the SD Channels to work. I don't see how my one won't work with NDSCam but it does for other people? hmm

Have they ever worked? Are the channels clearing in NDSCam or being blocked, as I haven't used NDSCam I don't know its error logs or style of reporting.

The SD Channels have never worked for me with NDSCam, but when i go to for example, TV One HD it loads within 5 seconds with NDSCam. it's weird.
