Ordinary speaker wire..

I have tried connecting this to my audio interface, alesis io4 but the sound is too weak and if i force it up theres distortion..

Help!! any suggestions? i currently have a 5.1 logitech connected to my audio interface.. Just wanted more bass...

Why is it so hars :,( do i need an amp?better audio interface? better cables?

I take it the Sub is not self powered and requires it's own amp it certainly sounds like the alesis io4 only has pre-amp out it still requires the sub to have it's own amp

According to what I can find online it seems to be a Passive 4 ohm sub for a car. As it's rated 500 watts input, without a seriously powerful amp it's not going to do much.
