Anybody got one of these as DSE have the 55" on special for $2299 and also have a $120 off voucher for today making it $2179 which I think is a bargain for a large (ish) UHD.

I have seen comments that the viewing angles aren't great but that doesn't bother me as we sit pretty much in front of the TV

I've got the curved screen model (JU6600) and I am impressed with the upscaling, definition and overall colour depth and contrast. It is almost 3D like. The only difference between your option and the one I purchased is that mine is slightly curved (and many people on the net have theories why that is not  good idea!)

I think you will be pleased with your purchase.

If you need help changing the region to UK for BBCiplayer All4 etc, send me a pm

Like any new tech, there will always be varied opinions. I seem to recall reading on the AVS forums (in the early days of curved displays) various reasons against the curved approach, especially the fact that a curve draws your eyesight naturally to the center of the screen. That argument was offset by those that suggested that a curved display gave you a wider field of view without having to scan the screen.

To be honest with you, I don't have an opinion apart from the fact that the model we purchased works well for us and the only time we notice that there is a slight curve on the screen is when the TV is turned off !

It would be interesting to compare them both side by side from the same viewing position and identical lighting, shading etc. But I suspect that my tired old eyes would be hard pressed to see a difference.
