Has anyone else experienced issues with El Capitan not recognising USB connected DAC units that previously were recognised?

My new Metrum Acoustics contains a USB unit that is not recognised by EC but was by the previous version. The manufacturer of the USB part is working on a solution and the issue has been mentioned online in audio forums as affecting more units than just Metrum.

I'm having to use SPDIF for now which hopefully will be OK. Has anyone else experienced similar? I read that it is to do with Apple 'tightening up' the USB specs in EC. Whatever that is.

I've seen it happen to a few DAC's after OSX updates... The Rotel seperate DAC suffered the same issue a few years ago, a software update for your DAC is the fix.

Yes I understand that the USB input manufacturer is working on that. No timescale. Martin at Metrum in The Netherlands tells me that they changed the USB unit post EC and that the new unit can be installed easily for EUR150: the NZ agent is looking into that for me in the event that the EC software fix takes too long.

Hooked it up with SPDIF today (had to order the cable) and it works well.
