Yeah i dont havea  hdhomerun but it looks like the device to get. You can even link it to googles own live channels app although not sure if there would be any guide.

Speaking from experience (MiBox + HDHomerun), the LiveChannels app does have a guide.  Not sure where the data came from, when I was playing around with the MiBox on a different network (without the hdhomerun) it wasn't there, but when I took it home and started it up, the app popped up on the homescreen from what I can recall (maybe after installing the HDHomerun app?).

so its the same price it has been except they are increasing it. What a sneaky sales pitch

Are you using the dvr?

Well, I guess its a 'if you're thinking of buying, do it now before the price increase' thing. Yes 20% off the existing price would be better, but (and don't quote me on this), think its the first time I've seen them give advance notice of an increase so I guess it's an improvement.

I have used the DVR, and it worked for me (via DVB-S PCI-E card and NextPVR on main PC, Win10) and its worked fine, but can't say I've seen that much to actually record.

So the sagar continues. Im sure ill crack this one day but the wife approval needs to be 100% for live tv/pvr

I setup plex pass on the weekend with the tuners there and all, then using the plex app on the mi box. I just could not get it to stream reliably, ill try a usb ethernet adaptor tonight as i was on WIFI AC so that *might* be the issue, however... I get plex is reducing live tv into shows but i showed this to the wife (the main live tv watcher) and she said hands down no way she liked that interface. I think its a nice idea but couldnt they just office a traditional Guide as well? Would it be so hard

Yeah they have quite a different approach to the guide.  I think they work on the premise that you series record everything, and watch later, and not use it for live tv (which was added 2nd btw).  So their interface follows that, as who cares what's on now if you're not going to watch it live.

So bailed on Plex pass, setup Next PVR as a backend for emby and its working great for its limited use. Opened up ports and can stream livetv/local files anywhere. Emby has both the shows view setup for DVB-T tv as well as the traditional guide view. Will trial with the wife over the next few weeks then decide if we buy the lifetime emby sub.

Don't forget that price increase coming up (which may or may not bother you that much...)

tv2: crap frame rate - audio fine

tv3 - crap frame rate - audio fine

Duke - scrubs the aspect radio is not correct, the 4:3 is squeezed - audio fine

Just wondering how Plex users are getting along with DVR & Live TV support currently, I see there have been a few updates to Plex since these posts.

I have an offer to get a lifetime PlexPass for $79USD but it expires tomorrow... Need to weigh up if the DVR/Live option is reliable enough to invest in a PlexPass membership.

How reliable has the service been for you and what tuner are you using? Is HomeRun Connect still the best option? The hardware looks a little outdated.

Also is a subscription required with HomeRun to use some of the features? Their website lists $35USD/Yr but those features are provided by PlexPass pass anyway..

Also anyone else have all channels as sd? Tv1 and tv1+1 both listed as sd.
