Hi all, I have an interesting question, in my man cave I have a pioneer car headunit running on mains power through an old computer power supply & am wanting to know the best way to get sound from the headunit to my tv (also in man cave). I have tried RCA cables from headunit to tv but had no control over the sound (volume stayed the same when turned up or down). Any tips or suggestions. Cheers

Wouldn't the rca method require the tvs volume to be used, since that's where the sound is coming.  I don't think there is any way your headunit could control the volume.

You could get something like this

It takes the speaker level output and turns it into RCA, set the TV to whatever volume, and use headunit.

You'd have to play with the volumes to ensure no distortion etc.

Cheap versions on Ali also

This.  Are you trying to get the TV sound to come out of the Car Stereo Speakers?

Or are you trying to get the Car Stereo sound to play through the TV speakers?

RCA is likely the best way to connect these two devices, but you'll likely have to adjust the sound volume on the device that's playing the sound through it's speakers.

Why would you want to have the car stereo outputting to the TV speakers? TV's generally have awful, small, cheap speakers. The car stereo has an inbuilt amp and speaker outputs that would sounds a hell of a lot better connected to even a cheap set of external speakers.
