r33ks: Do you think it's a coincidence, or a slow day for Peter, and he needed some inspiration for his blog

You would have to know he keeps an geekzone for links in his stories,

http://blogs.nzherald.co.nz/blog/griffins-tech-blog/2008/4/15/unbundling-teething-problems/?c_id=5
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/story.cfm?c_id=5&objectid=10484866
http://blogs.nzherald.co.nz/blog/griffins-tech-blog/2007/11/28/blog-the-trouble-with-telecoms-cabinets/?c_id=5
http://blogs.nzherald.co.nz/blog/griffins-tech-blog/2007/11/8/blog-start-your-own-mobile-operator/?c_id=93
http://blogs.nzherald.co.nz/blog/griffins-tech-blog/2007/6/18/blog-do-we-need-another-fat-pipe/?c_id=55

not such a jump that he would use a thread as a source of inspiration for a blog entry

Hey, don't get me wrong. It's great when NZ Herald (or Stuff which does very little) links to Geekzone. We certainly have no problems sending some link love to them.

I personally know Peter and have no problem with him. It was just... interesting.

But keep an eye on the petition - sign it!

how 'niche' can it be if my mum (least geek level possible) likes things like stargate and and the later iterations of the star trek stuff...i'm sure if she got to see some of the other scifi that doesn't get shown here she would like that too.....

needless to say i love scifi and would like to see it aired here in NZ

28 is a good start - be sure to forward the petition link (and if you can the NZ Herald Link) to everyone you know - More signatures will make a big difference....

Sign the Petition http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/bring-on-the-sci-fi-channel.html

The NZ Herald story on the need for more sci-fi http://blogs.nzherald.co.nz/blog/griffins-tech-blog/2008/4/21/its-high-time-sky-got-sci-fi-channel/?c_id=1501198

If enough of us sci-fi fans get together on this we could make it happen!

Hmmm. I guess you don't follow my Twitter then... The "cooking" started a bit earlier.

I've signed.

As long as Sky gets it and TCL gets to broadcast it over cable (both digital and/or analog), then I'm happy.

Ring sky tv and ask for the Sci-Fi channel! 0800 759 759 press 0 for customer service. Tell them to email the programming people with your request for that channel.
