Ends tomorrow on the 16th from what I can see...wish my harmony remote supported it.

you are probably correct, ends on the 16th probably means you have all day the 16th to buy it, I was thinking when the 16th comes the deal is over.

premiumtouring:

Hi Wade,

Thanks for taking one for the team. You're doing the lord's work.

Couple of quick questions:

1. Does the unit emit a lot of heat once it has been running for a while? Or is it relatively cool to the touch?

2. How bright is the panel? Does it stack up well in a room full of light? Or does the image fade when the ambient room light is too high?

3. You said you eventually plugged in your laptop/computer. Does that mean you rendered the desktop at 4K? How did the desktop look? Was the picture sharp? Was there any noticeable lag or artefacts on slow moving high resolution imagery (tearing)?

4. Lastly, what are the panels viewing angles like? Specifically from extreme left or extreme right? Can you still see the images on the screen OK?

Might get a couple of these if they're decent. The service from TWL already has me 90% sold.

I have not noticed any heat output but will check tonight after it has been running all evening

The panel is very bright, it is in a very ambient room wall mounted with windows opposite on a slight offset, we are finding we close the curtains fair less than with the 42" LCD panasonic it replaced, the default brightness setting is at 50% but have it set at 40% as it was unnecessarily bright lol

Yes the desktop at 4K was very usable, to be honest you wouldn't want to be closer than 4ft for PC desktop use purely because up close it is too bright, I wonder if the same tv in a 43" version would possibly make an ideal budget PC monitor. 4k youtube vids ran fine, no visible lag other than some buffering as work laptop loops everything through Sydney.

Viewing angle is very good, tv is in a shallow room so on couch is near right angles to screen and still quite watchable, I would say  colours wash out a little at the extremes (150~180deg) but overall still good viewing

Does anyone noticed that it's quite slow to start it up? It takes about 30 seconds or so.

I just ordered one of these before I saw this 30 second malarkey. If it is that slow I might send it back!

it could be 30 second from complete power off vs a few seconds from standby aswell.. my sony android tv from power off takes ages, a couple of minutes, from standby about 10-15 seconds.  but thats a smart tv doing a crap load more.

Yeah that makes sense - most android phones take a fair while to start up from power-on or hard reset.

I will time it and report back tonight, splash screen would be 1 or 2 secs at worst from memory, definitely no 30 second delay, it's essentially just a dumb tv

Tomorrow Warehouse Money is doing a "special" 10% off discount for items purchased with their Credit Card at the Warehouse.

I guess now I really can't say "no" at that price.
