Our Sony TV runs Android TV.

I recently went into the YouTube app and it said I was not logged in. I clicked log in and nothing. It just for around in circles telling me I'm not logged in and yet not allowing me a screen to log in on.

I removed my Google account and then re entered that but to no avail.

Under settings, it also says Sync for the Google account is unavailable and will be available shortly, although it has said that for a month.

Any suggestions?

My sony has two YouTube apps on it - one used to work, then I got a notification (a banner that displaed on power-up for about a month) that it was no longer going to work, and use the new one. That was quite some time ago. The new one did work for a while, but not as good I felt, and eventually I stopped using it. Tried again this morning, and neither of them will work. Maybe Sony has given up on YouTube?

I am using a Sony A1 and the built-in YouTube app is working just fine for me. It looks exactly like the YouTube app I have on my Amazon Fire TV so I think it's standard.

You folks used Google Play to update your apps? Checked for new OS version?

I think my Sony TV is a little too old for Android apps - It still has the original Sony Entertainment Network and a smattering of random other apps - Billabong TV anyone?

I'll check it but I know it is set for auto update.

Sony X930D here, the YouTube app was working fine for me as of yesterday.

I would suggest a factory reset of the TV. Its not really an issue, although you will lose your TV picture settings if you have changed them.

YouTube also working fine for me, though I will say I've had my fair share of bugs when it comes to this TV (X850C). If you haven't already you can try restarting your TV. Just hold down the power button until your TV shuts down down it will start up again automatically.
