Someone's probably asked before but how are the TCL tv's with HDR? I will be replacing my 65 inch veon sometime next year when the warranty expires was thinking of getting a TCL with HDR. Since Veon seem to be ignoring HDR for now.

It supports hdr 10. But it's not likely speced to hdr standard. But makes no difference to me, I find the picture quality pretty amazing.

got it working with google home. just re-added/connected TV to google home and it seems to work.

casting spotify, tuneIn, youtube, volume, etc.

starting installed apps does not work 100%. but works with assistant on TV itself. go figure.

I'm more or less happy :)

I can't stand my TCL after updating to people's suggested "update", it's very buggy. laggy, nothing works properly.

Trouble is I never had the original firmware to compare, it's probably buggy too.

My question is though, does anyone know if I factory reset will it go back to the original firmware that it shipped with?

what is your current firmware?

What is lagging and does not work properly?

no, factory reset won't revert back to original.

I'm on v475 Android 8, and happy camper, everything works as I want (freeview, freeview on demand, youtube, online movies, IPTV, google assistant, local plex (yesterday struggled with 4k video, wtf? but it might be my network wide issue)). there's v499 and v500 released during December, people prefer v500. I'm yet to upgrade.

it's just laggy. like there is something going on in the background (doesn't matter if it's a fresh boot or resume from standby) and then when you try to press settings it doesn't load settings until 15 seconds later, things like that. youtube video (not 4k60fps) is jerky (not buffering, but more lag related like it doesn't have enough CPU power)

basically the exact same symptoms when my old computer is also throttling.

I would highly recommend to update to android 8.

v364 was meh for me too. v373 - much better.

so at least update to v475 - I'm currently running or v509 posted above.

if you think apps running in background causes issues, you can disable them from Apps menu.
