I'll be interested to see if it now supports chromecasting from Lightbox, which is something I've never been able to get going in the past.

You can side load Lightbox onto the MiBox, instead of chromecasting.

what about tvnz and three

I couldn't get them to work with the remote, but you can access them through Kodi as shown on Matt Huisman's website, which is what I do.

I've side-loaded the latest version of lightbox for Andorid TV and I still can't get it to play videos on my MiBox.  If I try and play a video the status bar comes up and the 'working' icon, then it just says there was an error playing the video.  I can chromecast lightbox to the MiBox now though, which i couldn't until the Android upgrade.

I'm starting to wonder if it could be an issue with the HDMI at the TV end.  I've read of such problems when using Netflix on a MiBox.

We just bought a Sammy 6100 55" so the MiBox will soon be redundant.  Out of curiosity I'll hook it up to the new TV anyway to see if that solves the issue with Lightbox.

You might have the wrong apk. I had the same issue, but then loaded a different apk and it worked. I'll have a look at the file size tonight, as they were both quite different in size.

Strange, that's the same one that I'm using. I had exactly the same problem that you're having when I tried installing it on my Fire TV, which someone else on these forums said was working for them. I gave up in the end and bought the MiBox instead, and it works perfectly.

Matt Huisman has a Kodi plugin that lets you run Lightbox, so you could give that a try.

There was a security update that was pushed out a couple of days ago to the MiBox 3 (about 42mb in size iirc). Since updating we are regularly losing sound output. If the MiBox isn't used for a while (hours) and another input is used, when you switch back to the MiBox there's no sound output from any app at all until it's restarted. Anyone noticed this?

I'm not experiencing this, but it looks like it's mentioned in the master bug list at https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/mi-box-3-master-bug-list.44784/

That'll be it, thanks @beddy!

If anyone's having wifi problems and can't wait for the OTA fix, you can download and install it from https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidTV/comments/93roj5/xiaomi_mdz16ab_oreo_build_2175_wifi_fix_google/

I still get 5.1 DD+ through Netflix, but it's often a bit choppy. This is a known bug.
