This might be of use to people who don't want to buy cables at rip off prices.

Ordered a 10m HDMI cable on friday night, arrived tuesday christchurch > hamilton. It looks like its good quality, around 10mm thick so its well insulated i'd say.
Ordered a 10m optical cable on monday night after getting a stock confirmation (if the quantity is below 10 they do a manual stock count), arrived thursday. Quality looks good, and it has caps over the ends to protect it when its not plugged in.

Would recommend to anyone wanting cheap cables.

Speaking of ripoff cables (and I know monster cables have been mentioned here before!) but did anyone see the latest Harvey Norman ad with the $400 1 m HDMI cable for really(!) high bandwidth...

Crickey!

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

I've used this company before for other cables, and I think they're great. Cheap, easy to use web site, massive selection of stuff, informative emails.

eXDee: ... Would recommend to anyone wanting cheap cables.

Do not appear to be particularly cheap for some products?

eg 5.0m Dynamix Type A male HDMI-HDMI Cable.

  + Cables Direct - $29.36 + shipping ($4?) + GST + (not certain if there is a VISA charge?)

+ Ascent - $28.35  INCL shipping & GST & no charge for VISA  (& Ascent are unlikely to be the cheapest?).

Most orders I have had from Ascent have been delivered next business day if product is in stock.
