Hey,

What's the best deal you've ever seen Sky offer for new installations?

Currently (until Sunday) they're offering $49 installation and Free Start Up + SKY Sport for first month.  Essentially a $63.05 saving.  Sounds good, but I'm pretty sure I remember Free installation deals from time to time...

Any suggestions?  Should I wait until next week / next month, or take this

J

The deal I took up was free install and all the channels for a one month trial period for (I think it was) $50, after which I could pare back to the most basic plan if I wanted. I cancelled at the end of the trial and they initially tried to tell me I had to give a month's notice but then said ok to instant cancellation when I said it would be a pretty odd trial if I had to cancel on day 1.

This was a door to door job about 4 years ago. I moved house not long after and called the guy to get the same deal but it was no longer available. Since then I've been hopefully receptive to further Sky offers but sadly they have been vastly inferior - much like the one you're describing.

I hoped someone was going to ask me why I cancelled but they didn't, so I emailed Sky my own diatribe about expensive content presented extremely cheaply. If Melody Robinson is considered to have sufficient stature for Prime then I shudder to think who they have on the pay channels these days!

I'm sure a few months ago they had free install and 6 months half-price startup.  It was right around when we moved so I wish I'd taken them up on the offer. Having said that, we still don't have Sky and I don't often miss it.  If I were to get Sky I'd probably want MySky HDi and that's going to be the same price for a while I'd imagine, so it doesn't make much difference now.
