2 questions

What did you pay for it, whats its used market value after 4 years

Honestly, unless it was a $1000++ TV ,
its not worth your time, trouble & stress trying to get a claim under the CGA . It will be a battle every step
of the way . Chances are you'd only get a % of its $ value after 4+ years

Sometimes it better to cut your loss & get on with your life, rather than battling for months with retailers & importers

You clearly have not read the CGA.  It says nothing about pro-rata versus the age of a product.  You can get a fix, full replacement or your money back for the life of the product.

You clearly do not live in the real world
Unless he was willing to take this to court , and spend more than its worth in legal fees........
Disputes tribunal IS NOT a court, and do not follow the exact wording of laws (ie a compromise, eg pro rata)

Retailer & importers have complete disregard for the CGA . The law can say anything, doesnt mean b8gger all for us in reality .

Only true if the retailer lives up to its obligations under the CGA. If it doesn’t, and you go to DT, the terms of CGA may not be applied.
