I would like to run HDMI from the SkyHD box to a HD display approx 15 metres via a pair of Cat6 runs already installed in walls. Anyone doing this? Any type of connector better than the other? How about something like this?

They look interesting. Very compact. They are probably powered via the HDMI cable itself....pin18, 5V.

All depends on the price I guess.

I doubt these baluns actually do HDCP handshaking, more likely just signal adaptation so you wouldn't have to worry about HDMI versions etc just bandwidth capability (just my guess).

Nice little balun. Only possible problem I can see is there is a potential to put stress on the hdmi connector itself with having 2 cat5/cat6 cables plugged directly into the back of the balun aswell. also how long would the connector end up being once utp cables are plugged in. There is this one available in NZ and it's price is not to bad I cant remember if its 80 or 90 for a pair or each but it can be tucked out of the way.

Im running this Unitek one, works well, over Cat6.  And yes it also does HDCP, that is what the 2nd UTP connection is for.
And it is powered.  Purchased from PB cause they had stock, and the price is not bad.

My opinions and ideas expressed in posts are solely my own and do not reflect the views of my employer in any way..

Yes the DDC line which would be mapped on the 2nd UTP cable does the HDCP handshake but I doubt the Baluns themselves are seen as an HDMI device by the other devices. They wouldn't know they are there.
