See above - her car battery was replaced last week during a service, and I was expecting that to reset the radio, but to no avail.

I'd happily do a factory reset on it...if only I could find the menu option to do this :( it's frustrating, to say the least.

Battery installer may have used another battery to maintain power during battery swap so that they didn't have to reset radio and clock, etc. Also some cars have engine and transmission ECU's that have to go through a relearn process after losing battery supply. Often easier to just have a jumper battery connected during swap.

If pressing twice in 5 secs doesn't do it have you tried pressing once and holding?

@quickymart – looking at this video of a guy entering the Menu and finding out what settings are available from the manual you may be able to figure it out. Maybe rotate the dial anti clockwise? You seem to be in the Function section (Islev) where language settings are. English may be written as Ingilizce. I reckon you're very close, so keep trying 👋

Useless life pro tip: If you're fluent in either Turkish or Klingon, you don't need to translate.

go to a shop where a unit is set up and find what buttons to push to get the languages, record it .

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Right, update. While the video posted above was reasonably detailed, unfortunately I'm no closer to getting this thing back into English. I think it's a discontinued model as I haven't seen it anywhere else.

I tried holding in the reset button for 15 seconds. All that did was clear the time, nothing else - preset stations were still there, as (unfortunately) was the language; I had to reset the clock but everything else stayed the same.

One of the weirdest things about this radio is the only languages on it are English and Turkish - yet the manual is in English and Arabic (not Turkish!) Why would you print a manual for a language that's not even available on the device? Crazy!

Anyway, I'm starting to think my only option is to disconnect the battery to see if that resets it, although it may not; yet that begs the mystery of how my boy managed to change it in the first place, especially if there's no "change language option" in the menus to begin with. Sigh.

Hehe he hasn't shown any interest in fiddling with it since last time, if only it was that easy :)

Hi mate,
I did the same thing while setting up and have found how to change it back:
Step 1: press reset button twice
Step 2: press control knob to enter menu
Step 3: rotate control knob until "English" is on the screen and "function" is displayed underneath
Spep 4: press controll know while on this setting and you are then back to english.
