I've decided to abandon the indoor DTT antenna idea and just get an installer out to install a rooftop one.

Now, I'm in Christchurch, Hoon Hay area, about 2-2.5 km from Sugarloaf and in line-of-sight.

Could I get a DTT rooftop antenna for DVB-T that isn't like the standard antenna but like a slim design type?

For example, would something like this be as good as a regular one?

What objection do you have to a more conventional yagi or co-linear?

There is the locally (ChCh) built Gizmo, which is a colinear that is quite compact, you will find most ChCh installers will carry these.

Alternatively you could go for a active antenna like this, however being so close to the transmitter will most likely overload an active antenna, I personally would not recommend one in close proximity to a Tx.

Nothing against yagi/co-linear, except maybe aesthetics. The Gizmo aerial looks good.

Can anyone recommend a good installer in CHCH?
