Same price at JB, does anyone know if the 65 CX is on special or even on stock anywhere? I have a 6 year old 50” tv so anything is going to be an upgrade but always thought a 65” would be great to have.

I was in JB earlier on and I'm pretty sure they had the 65 CX at $3899 on the ticket. Smiths City have it for $3799 on their website.

Ah thanks. I didn’t see it at JB today although it was insane there so didn’t want to stick around. Can’t see it on their website either so wonder if it’s low stock. Will have to have a think about which one I want. The prices are too good at the moment to pass up

All the big retailers typically do dodgy stuff with their websites on Boxing Day in part to avoid price matching - by removing some of these products it means customers can't provide proof of the cheaper price. It's not uncommon for Harvey Norman to list products at higher prices than instore.

Picked up the 65CX for $3799 in store today at Noel Leeming. It's not on their website, but that's the price on their system in store.

Nice! What’s the verdict so far?

Took a look around. Right in that some models don’t show up online anymore when they have a display one on show.

Seems the Sony tv’s have the best combo of functionality. Android TV, Airplay, Chromecast. LG is just missing the android tv. Panasonic doesnt have any on their oled model. TCL’s qled c715 look good as a led option.

I suppose this might be part of the boxing day rush and taking down some model’s pages, but I can’t find and Samsung OLEDs, do they not retail here in NZ?

Picked up was not really the right terminology... They didn't have stock, due January sometime...

Making me feel a lot better about $4300 for my 65C9 in June, I'm way too impatient

Anything I say is the ramblings of an ill informed, opinionated so-and-so, and not representative of any of my past, present or future employers, and is also probably best disregarded.

I for one am glad that Panasonic and LG don't use Android TV. It's truly a horrible product - and the problem that it's such a polarising product. People either love it or hate it, there is no in between.

Samsung don't make OLED TV's, but have been rumoured to be looking to bring their QD OLED which is a pseudo hybrid quantum dot / OLED product to market by 2022.

Oh dear, you won't like then that Panasonic is flirting with Android TV, so I wouldn't be surprised if they announce it for their 2021 lineup at CES.

WebOS is probably the best proprietary OS so far, but I wouldn't be surprised if the TV OS market goes the way of the Android phone market. Which would probably be an improvement in some cases, since most non-Android TV OSes end up as abandon-ware about 5 minutes later.

@SpartanVXL, what are you looking to do with your TV?

Edit: FlatpanelsHD also did a great write-up recently about what to expect at CES 2021

Ordered the LG CX 55" from Harvey Norman Mount Roskill today for $3,200. Sales guy said they only had a couple left - who knows if he says that to everyone. Last day at that price is tomorrow if you're interested. Delivery tomorrow. My first OLED - excited!

Pretty sure it was selling for $2,799. But if that is for a 65 inch then that is a steal.

Just turned on our LG C8 and found there was an update available for WebOS - 05.30.02.

This is the long-promised and long-awaited update that brings AirPlay to the C8 - brings it in line with the C9 which received AirPlay earlier in the year.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Nice! If you’re a subscriber, watching a Dolby Vision movie on Disney+ really shows what the set can do.
