Yes
No you dont. Thats identical to mine.
IM talking about the "FOR YOU" tab layout not the top picks for you row. Your tabs are the same as mine. SEARCH HOME APPS LIBRARY not the layout that is available in other countries which better organises content. Our layout is just a glorified android tv not the full Googletv experience.
The "Top Picks For You" in the home is the same as the old "For You" tab.

This a possible replacement for Vodafone TV for free to air channels using Google TV:
@GeekGuy told me that according to this web page https://ahaan.co.uk/article/top_stories/pvr-live-record-pause-live-tv-android-tv
".... Tivimate is still lacking features such as recording, PVR Live allows you to pause live TV and record any upcoming TV Shows and Movies from your IPTV Provider...." which explains why I was not able to get recording playback working with Tivimate.
This encouraged me to have a Play with PVR Live and I have been able to get it to pause live TV, and record future programs to an SMB share on a Windows 10 PC, from which it can be played, as follows:
Using Matt Huismans m3u8 file for NZ Raw TV as the play list.
What you need to to to do is share a folder, that is not a part of a cloud drive shuch as One Drive, in Windows 10 on a hard drive by right clicking on it and selecting properties, and sharing. You can share it to "everyone" by adding "everyone" as user and giving it Read/Write permission.
Then create a local user by right clicking on the Microsoft Icon in the lower left corner, selecting computer management, local Users, Users, right click in the users, and specify a new user with a user name and password and unticking user must change password at first logon. If you prefer you can share the folder to just this one user.
Then in PVRLive in Recording and Schedules under settings,DVR, DVR Location, specify the host name, with smb://hostname or smb://ipaddress, of the computer on which you have defined the user and share the user name and password and the host name as the domain. Then navigate to the share at the host and select it, and click on done.
Also in Recording and schedules under Timeshift specify the same smb share location as Timeshift buffer location so as to provide support for pausing live TV and have the ability to fast forward.
If you are using the ip address of the computer it is best to reserve the address in DHCP on your router as a fixed IP address so that it does not change in the future.

The "Top Picks For You" in the home is the same as the old "For You" tab.
The For You tab is the newer Interface. Google, “For You Tab missing” and watch some videos. It isn’t supported in NZ but if I use a VPN it appears.
Thanks. I've watched a couple and here I still think you are mistaken.
If you watch one video in particular (top result, from April 2021) it shows "For you" on top with suggestions as "Top Picks for you", "Your apps", "Trending on Google", "Sci-fi Shows", "Crime shows set in the UK", "Documentaries", "Comedies", "Recommended videos", etc. The "Movies" and "Shows" tabs show those by categories (1).
When he connects to a non-supported country the UI shows "Home" with the categories "Your apps", "App categories", "App from my other devices" (2).
The device we have in New Zealand has "Home" with sub-categories "Top picks for you", "Continue watching", "Movie frenzy", "Popular movies", "Popular TV shows", "Recommended videos", "Trending on Google".
I am thinking Google has changed the UI from what it was 12 months ago and it replaced "For you" with "Home" as the tab name. The content seems to be very similar and on my "Home" I recommendations as per my description - including the option to continue watching shows in some of the third-party services linked to my account such as Netflix and Disney+.

Thanks for this - I had a play with the free version of Tivimate and Matt's lists and it worked very well. I saw the 'record' options and wondered if they worked (they are greyed out in the free version). I tried Matt's m3u8 list with the Kodi 'PVR simple client' addon - it works - but is very very slow to change channels.
Will have a play with PVRlive and give it a try.
EDIT: and thanks for your guide

MrsteveO: I am talking about the Tabs not the Rows. I give up.
I am also talking about the tabs. The tabs don't matter - "Home" now has the same rows as the old "For you".

Mine is powered by a desktop USB Gen3 port - this makes sideloading a breeze (I used An Explorer).
And I must say NewPipe is a great way to surf YouTube without the ads.

So I installed PVRLive and noticed it install google's 'Live Channels' app as part of that.
Fired up PVRLive and it made me add the m3u8 playlist.
And... voilà! - I can access the live streams and it works nicely - fast changing channels and the little pop up program/info cloud for a couple of seconds after you change channels.
Was using these streams in Kodi's 'PVR Simple client' - but its very slow to change channel for some reason (it is a common issue with Kodi apparently).
Figured I dont really care about recording TBH and you have to pay for that functionality - But wondered, when I go into PVRLive I can access live TV, but to access that it says 'Tip - Launch directly from 'Live Channels'.
Couldnt find any icon or visible app for that, so read up on 'Live channels'. It is an app that Android TV/Google TV supplies and can accept sources - from a tuning card or IP streams etc. But it needs other apps to configure it annoyingly. It doesn't appear as a free standing app (once installed) on the Chromecast TV - but it is on Android TV.
So I found this thread that discusses the issue https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidTV/comments/nn36om/live_channels_app_on_chromecast_with_google_tv/
So there is a sub thread that points to a nice little app that someone made, that is basically a shortcut to directly access 'Live Channels' on you CCWGTV. Works perfectly!
