I'm keen to buy one. But as far as I know you can't change playback speed on YouTube. I'd love to be proven wrong.
Great that you guys that have got them so far seem to be happy with them.
robertosc: Mine has finally arrived today.
I wasn’t able to install TVNZ, 1 News and ThreeNow. I wasn’t able to install them in my android tv before but I thought it was because it’s too old. Were you guys able to install any tv channel apps?

Yep they were all pretty easy to install from the apps page. The other option is to access https://play.google.com/store from your pc and go to these apps and install them to your chromecast from there.
Mine arrived today, ordered around Wednesday last week. I'm quite pleased with it. Navigation and apps are quite snappy.
Thanks guys. Yeah, it looks like I have to change my country on Google Play. And after 1 hour trying, it seems I won't be able to because it needs to be done in the Google Play app (not the website) and I don't have an android device. Really frustrating.

Zandberg: The problem here is not really with google or Android. It is the fact that tvnz and three don't want people outside new Zealand to easily use their apps through vpn because then they would breach their content licensing. But I'm sure you can change your country without using the play store I think you just need to update your default country in pay.google.com not sure that's the right place but wherever you update your billing info
Other option is to create a secondary gmail account for New Zealand and add that to your chromecast as a secondary account ( I did this with my south african account) and then you can install new zealand apps from that account through the play store as described
it's super weird - my country in pay.google.com is NZ but not on Google Play. I've talked with support via chat and they told me I have to use an android device :(
I'm trying to do what you said, I've added the new account but the app doesn't show up anyway and if I try to install via webpage on my PC it says the app is not supported on the chromecast. Did you have to somehow log off from the NZ account on the chromecast or you simply added a second one and ZA apps showed up?
I appear to have this known issue https://support.google.com/chromecast/thread/75244430?hl=en
After loading additional apps, the storage on my CCWGTV is running low. Does anyone know of a USB hub that will work with this device? My online search shows that some will work and some don't. Just looking at models that I get buy in NZ and hopefully does not cost too much. I intend to add a USB drive (as shared storage) and a wireless keyboard with trackpad. Hate typing with the remote. Thanks.
cannonball: Hate typing with the remote.
robertosc, thanks I should have thought of that! Any suggestions on a good keyboard/remote app?
Anyone else had issues getting one via Dick Smith (aka Kogan now). Ordered mid December says sitting at customs since the 27th. Support was useless and said maybe customs is busy. Yeah I figured that but really, sigh.

Different product but same store and result for me: a birthday present I ordered my wife in early Dec (which has already now passed) has been stuck at Customs since 30 Dec. I haven’t bothered emailing them yet, assuming I’d get that response.
