There is no hurry. My 65" X9300E is still going strong. Maybe they will discount it again when the new models arrive.

That's a young Sony, my Sony is 12 years old and still going strong in the lounge!

What's the best way to check 55x90j stock levels?

Every thewarehouse store returns area can be used for drop offs for small items or you can use a shipping method. For larger items manufactor warranty will be on-site.

Minor faults will normally be replaced or replaced if economical

Major faults will be replaced under cga.

It's really not that difficult.

Sony Store has sold out of the 55” and 65” models. Plenty of 50” and 75” still available.

Some Noel Leeming stores have still got stock of the 55”, depending on where you live.

The Market still have some 55” with 10% off

Do you guys know about the WiFi standby issue on these TVs?
From what I've gleamed the TVs WiFi goes into sleep mode, presumably after a period of inactivity or being put on standby and it can only be fixed with a power down and back up.
Apparently it's super-annoying

Yep I have experienced this but with the wthernet chip,

When I get home from work there is no working connection until after a reboot.

Easy fix, installed a USB to ethernet adaptor (gigabit), plug in ethernet via USB,

Kills 2 birds with one stone as the ethernet chip on tvs is only 100mb/s on most models.

And since I have changed to USB ethernet I have had no issues.

The WiFi issue does sound annoying - if I have any issues with that or regular ethernet, I'll try out your tip Sdavis. What would be the need for a TV to have over 100mb/s? Does streaming at highest quality require more than that?

Forgot to mention the issue will probably be fixed via a firmware update at some point.

When streaming 4k HDR content via a streamer or via plex it can spike over 100mb/s.

I have seen this in real life when I did a training course at chorus once. They had a monitor running when pulling a 4k hdr stream.

90% of the time 100 will be sufficient, but if it's easy to fix , as I described, with a gigabit ethernet USB, then may as well use it.

It's strange that they only have 100, my 2019 Nvidia shield has a 1g port so at least Nvidia are forward thinking.

Nice one!
Didn't know USB to Ethernet adapter existed, let alone it would work on a TV rather than a PC.
What brand? I ask because I have had issues with USB to HDMI adapters in the past

Unfortunately, we had a death in the family from COVID when the sales were on, so I had other things to worry about instead of focusing on my new TV.

I have since decided to keep an eye on The Sony Store stock levels of the 75X95J. When they hit low level, I will buy at whatever the price is at the time (unless there is a drop in price before stocks are low). Its the TV that I have really wanted all along.

How are you guys getting along with your 75" purchases? Worth it?

Condolences
I also missed out on an x90j (65")
Looked at a store display model today. Wife actually preferred the more vibrant picture on the x85j playing the same content. Not sure how to explain the difference... settings?

If you prefer the picture on the X85J, then you can save yourself a few hundred dollars for a 75”.

I didn't look at any tvs in person before I bought this one, still haven't seen what it looks like. Pretty certain the reviews and opinions online give me good enough assurance that it's the right choice.
