NinjaSZ: I didn't look at any tvs in person before I bought this one, still haven't seen what it looks like. Pretty certain the reviews and opinions online give me good enough assurance that it's the right choice.

I’m sure that you will be happy with your purchase. There are many conflicting reviews online for all TV’s, and I do prefer to see the TV before I buy it. I visited the Sony Store a couple of weeks ago, and I would be happy with either the 95 or 90, but when I buy electrical products, I go for the top model in most cases, but I do like to get it for the best price that I can πŸ€‘

I purchased the last Sony 77" A80J from the Sony Store Sylvia park over Queens Birthday weekend for a very very good price. Managed to finally wall mount it last friday and enjoy some content over the weekend, including the Saders/Chiefs and Blues/Brumbies games. It was an upgrade to my still impressive 65" LG C7 OLED. Verdict? Wow is all i can say. Great picture for 4K content and even upscaled stuff like the Rugby. Out of the box image more natural compared to the C7. Very happy with it.

I finally stopped procrastinating, and bought the Sony 75X95J from the Sony Store today.

There may be a sale this weekend, but I'm not really worried about it. Possible saving of $200 - $300, but also the risk of a price rise, or stock disappearing.

I don't know what the original release price was, but I would guess at $6999. Anyone remember?

I'm a happy camper! 😁

Just something that I noticed when completing my order yesterday. I knew that I would get free shipping until June 30th (most likely to be extended). When I clicked on the info button for delivery costs, $9 was the normal shipping cost.

Noel Leeming and The Market give you free shipping as well  for Market Club members (normally $6), but they charge a hefty $89 bulky surcharge. Something to keep in mind for future purchases.

I also created an account on the Sony website, so that all Sony online purchases will be automatically registered to my account.

Great news for gamers. They waited forever for the VRR update, then when they did finally get it, the local dimming turned off when using VRR. Not a gamer myself, but pleased to hear that Sony have finally got it right.

It seems like forever since I ordered my 75X95J. Its out for delivery today. Should get it this afternoon. I organized to have it mounted on my wall tomorrow, but its now been postponed until next week. Installer has Covid 😬

I thought about buying a Playstation 5, or even a PS4 Pro, but it seems that its impossible to get a new one ATM. Don't want a refurbished one.

I checked for the update a couple of times throughout the day but it hadn't arrived until I just manually checked again now. Currently updating, and I'm pretty interested in whether I'll see any noticeable difference.

I finally got my 75X95J wall mounted on Friday morning. I haven’t run any test screens or looked for dirty screen or grid patterns that many people have complained about in various forums, but I have had a quick screen check when there has been a solid colour background, and my old eyes haven’t seen anything suspicious yet, so, so far, I am very impressed with my purchase. If you go looking for problems on any TV you would likely find something. If it can’t be seen when watching content, it’s not a problem.

The Google TV system is working well, and the apps that I subscribe to have worked flawlessly so far. I do have an Apple TV 4K connected, as I thought that the Google TV system maybe a bit buggy, but so far, all is good. I have installed the Apple TV app, so no need to fire up the wee box, as I can access my movie collection through the app.

The TV is very bright, and looks great when watching HDR content. Upscaling of HD content is superb. Watching the rugby last night was a joy (except for the result lol). When setting up, I left brightness at the default of 35 for normal everyday TV viewing, but soon reduced it to 25.

It’s early days, but so far I’m really pleased with the TV. It looks like a keeper for sure 😁

How do you watch the rugby? Up until the New Year I used Vodafone TV and the Sports channel were always of an acceptable quality on my Plasma tv. Now using the Sky Sport Now app the quality is extremely poor on my Plasma and on my X90J.

Ahh the old Sky Sport Now crappy issue, hopeless  without a decent resolution unlike the Sky Go app which is streets ahead. I use kodi devices and a couple of Matt Huisman's excellent apps

I watch on the Sky Sport channel. All sports look great in upscaled HD. Looking forward to the English Premier League on Sky for the next six years.
