Hi all,

Every now and a again I see a GZ handle floating around on the NMT forum.
Thought I would see how many there actually GZers actually have a PCH and what your setups are:

I have a NMT A100 - Running Calm 2.0 index / YAMJ w. Robinjecal Skin / MusicBox 5 / Default Photo viewer
I have a internal 320gb drive (About to purchase a WD 1Tb Green drive)

All displayed on my 42" Panasonic TH-PY800 TV.

Future Plans - Thinking about installing GB PVR - And getting USB TV stick for laptop - Maybe

What have you got - And where r u headed?

Cheers

I'm looking to get PCH A110 but don't know who/where best get this from, I know another colleague of mine is interested too...

At the same time, LaCie LaCinema Black Max seems pretty cool with analogue input upscaling to 1080i and Digital tuner too... if that can take NZ's FreeView|HD then this could be the ultimate.

I've had a pch (A100) since April last year.

It's permanently installed in my bedroom connected to a Samsung 26" LCD via HDMI.  I run the gbpvr interface on it so that it can control the tuners/watchi recordings etc.

Mostly used for watching recordings.

Predominantly the recordings are dvb-s.  Currently I'm trying to get a gbpvr script working that will take tv1, tv2 dvb-t recordings and change the audio to wav, and re-merge into an MKV file.  Some success but not 100% yet.

Overall I'm really happy with it.  I'd like it to do the dvb-t natively, that means I could get a dual dvb-t tuner, and drop the satellite feed.

I have a harddrive in it but don't generally use it, it's pretty slow to transfer stuff to it.  I looked at getting an a110 late last year, but the NZ Dollar dropped to peso status and it would have worked out to $400 NZD.  So glad I gave up on that and just bought a decent video card for my gbpvr server.

Hi Cheifie,

The LaCie LaCinema Black Max looks interesting - Very polished - but 300 pounds is expensive though.

Just goto the PCH website and order it directly - I had no troubles ordering it from them - Good delivery & shipping advice plus online tracking with DHL.

If you have any questions - fire them my way and I will try and answer them. If not I'm sure somebody else here will be able to advise you.

I must got my PCH about the same time as you Pyscik. Got mine just before April.

Actually I noticed the popcorn hour site now doesn't list the "products" any more.  This was yesterday.  Not sure if it's been fixed today.  So you couldn't actually buy one.

I've had a A100 since February 2008.  Last software update was May 2008. As all is OK for my use no point in updating to the latest software and bricking the thing.  Attached to my Sony 46" TV and HT amp.. With the current exchange rate if it dies then it most likely will not get replaced..

I have had a A100 for about 6 months now. Prior to that the PS3 was my main media player using Tversity as the server but now the PCH plays all my content. I use MyiHome and Swisscenter as the two servers. All recordings are done with gbpvr (DVB-T and TCL cable) and all content is played on the PCH going to a 56" RP DILA set. The family room has 5.1 sound (AC3 and DTS) and is about to be upgraded with TrueHD and DTS HD Master

Only upgrade needed - AAC-HE LATM audio support!

System One: Popcorn Hour A200,  PS3 SuperSlim, NPVR and Plex Server running on Gigabyte Brix (Windows 10 Pro), Sony BDP-S390 BD player, Pioneer AVR, Raspberry Pi running Kodi and Plex, Panasonic 60" 3D plasma, Google Chromecast

System Two: Popcorn Hour A200 ,  Oppo BDP-80 BluRay Player with hardware mode to be region free, Vivitek HD1080P 1080P DLP projector with 100" screen. Harman Kardon HK AVR 254 7.1 receiver, Samsung 4K player, Google Chromecast

Do you think they will EVER get round to providing the much needed audio upgrade for us and Norway. I am not holding my breath - but until then, the PCH really is not reaching its full potential for us.  Still a useful piece of kit though.

Cheers Mike

If TVNZ ever gets around to broadcasting DD5.1 with their HD shows, then this will become less of an issue for us. I wonder what will come first!

I have had an A-100 for a few months, now, running via HDMI to the panasonic 42" Plasma. I run GBPVR on my main computer and feed the A-100 via ethernet cable. It has been reliably running 24/7 (cross fingers!) and I am very pleased but all credit for its usability must go to GBPVR's sub and to a great guy from Canada called Martin.

I don't have a HDD in it - can't see the point. But I do have a permanent small USB drive in it with the startup scripts which makes it simpler to connect to GBPVR.
