Got the Hitchcock Classics Collection Vol 3 Collecion. Also digibook. Looks nice. Bit of a bugger to gets the discs out without touching the back surface though.

JBNZ have Free Shipping on all orders for Cyber Monday,

Anyone interested in buying Field of Dreams can get it from Amazon AU for AU$18.00 (NZ$43.98 at JBNZ) Amazon state that the Blu-ray is Region A locked, but as its Universal it will be Region Free. Shipping is AU$17.54 so you would need to spend AU$59 to get free shipping 😁 Lots of other good prices, so it would be easy to rack up AU$59.

Great haul TracerFire!

I also finished with 17 movies from various retailers. But that's counting Back to the Future Trilogy and Star Trek Trilogy as 6 😁

First time poster, long time lurker.  Thanks Movieman for keeping us updated on the latest physical 4K releases. It's extremely helpful and much appreciated.

I ordered quite a lot from JB Hi Fi Australia, but unfortunately it has become an almost impossible task for the titles I now want which are unavailable to us in NZ. So I took the risk on November 2 to do my first order from EzyDVD for Cinderella 1950 4K. They stated that orders would be sent out if in stock within 24 hours, so I kept on checking my order to see if it had dispatched via the website. Five days after ordering, the message remained pending dispatch and I was getting a little worried. On November 8, there is a knock at the door and it was New Zealand Couriers with a bubble wrap bag. Yes, Cinderella had arrived and in perfect condition. Even today when I check the order online, it still has pending dispatch, so don't get too concerned if there is no update on your order page. It may take a little longer with the sale.

I also did an order with EzyDVD and never received shipping confirmation. Mine arrived today, 6 days after ordering. Would definitely use them again when they have sales. Ended up being NZ$16.41 each for 3 x 4K Blu-rays including shipping.

Hey, that's great that you also had an excellent shopping experience with EzyDVD.  At least that is another online option for buying discs.

JBNZ have sprung a surprise on their website. Field of Dreams and To Kill a Mockingbird are showing as "New Releases" and at a reduced price of $43.98 and $31.98 respectively.

JBAU still have them both marked as "Coming Soon" while EzyDVD has a release date of  December 13th, so take from that what you will πŸ€ͺ

EDIT: December 13th seems to be a popular choice for these two titles, so maybe we can assume that JBNZ have jumped the gun a little.

I thought there was something not right when JBNZ had these two titles released before Australian sellers. JBNZ have removed the above two titles from their website. Don't know if they will return; if they do return I would expect them to be available on December 13th or 20th.

4K Ultra HD x 2 (Regular Edition & Black & White Edition)

David Drayton and his young son Billy are among a large group of terrified townspeople trapped in a local grocery store by a strange, otherworldly mist. David is the first to realize that there are things lurking in the mist... deadly, horrifying things... creatures not of this world. Survival depends on everybody in the store pulling together... but is that possible, given human nature? As reason crumbles in the face of fear and panic, David begins to wonder what terrifies him more: the monsters in the mist — or the ones inside the store, the human kind, the people that until now had been his friends and neighbors?

RESERVOIR DOGS (1992) SPECIAL EDITION

4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray

This looks like the exact same release from June 2023. That was the Collector's Edition. This is the Special Edition and its cheaper.

Four Perfect Killers. One Perfect Crime. Critically acclaimed for its raw power and breathtaking ferocity, Reservoir Dogs is the brilliant American gangster movie classic from writer-director Quentin Tarantino. They were perfect strangers, assembled to pull off the perfect crime. Then their simple robbery explodes into bloody ambush, and the ruthless killers realize one of them is a police informer. But which one?

Just a little rant 😁

Its great that Australia have boutique film distributors who acquire the rights to some films that we would otherwise not be able to purchase. Imprint, Via Vision and Umbrella come to mind, but, to me, they are ripping off collector's with their ridiculous pricing. I know that they probably have to pay good money for said rights, but surely they could be fairer than they are with pricing, do we really need lenticular slipcovers, slip boxes and art cards? Many "4K" releases from Umbrella (not sure about the others) are just that... 4K. No HDR or Wide Colour Gamut (WCG) just an upscaled 2D version.

Personally I don't buy from any of the aforementioned distributors as most of their offerings are films that don't interest me. I recently bought the US release of Reservoir Dogs from Amazon AU for about NZ$25. The Via Vision Collector's Edition is NZ$74.98 at JBNZ and the upcoming Special Edition is $54.98 at Mighty Ape. Another example is The Magnificent Seven (1960) my favourite Western of all time. Via Vision has pre-orders for the DVD (AU$34.95) and Blu-ray (AU$39.95). Browsing Amazon AU and I find the US 4K Ultra HD Edition for AU$29.81.

Rant Over!

I received my order from EzyDVD today, November 30th. Six business days. The movies were well packaged in a sturdy cardboard box and they were in excellent condition. I received an order confirmation via email, but the website didn't change from "ordered" to "shipped". Otherwise, a great service.

I will be ordering from EzyDVD again in the future. I like the fact that when I browse their available titles, its stated that the item is in stock or if it will have to be ordered in.

I add my recommendations to those of TracerFire and chrismitchell.

Just seen this on Blu-ray,com.

It seems a bit iffy to me, could be a scam.

"Hey everyone, I've recently launched my new website and thought I'd let my fellow Australian collectors know. I specialise in importing boutique, cult and impossible-to-get-in-Australia-anymore films on BD and UHD. At this early stage, I'm focusing on releases from the UK and the US. I've started small with mostly pre-orders but I have some stock arriving very soon. Check us out!"

Thanks,
Rick

He has Titanic, Aliens, True Lies on his pre-order page.

I would advise everyone not to pay for any pre-orders until we find out if he is genuine or not. Would be great if we could get Disney titles from him. But then. there's always Amazon.

Re: The Above Post.

Seems like the guy is genuine; a collector like the rest of us, trying to make a buck. Good luck to him.

He is only dealing in Australia for now, but he's hoping to take international orders when he gets established.
