Universal/Sony Home Entertainment distribution are ceasing operations in Australia in early 2024.

The good news is; an Australian media distributor are taking over the reins in February. All Interactive Distribution have their head office and largest distribution centre on the Gold Coast with other distribution centres in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide. They also have an office in Auckland, which houses sales and admin staff.

They will be distributing catalogue and new releases and we can only hope that its a nice, smooth change over.

Although its the first that I have heard of them, among their suppliers are EA Games, Playstation, XBox, Activision, Nintendo, Hasbro, Go Pro and others. It looks like they are a major distributor for the games industry in Australia/NZ going by their list of suppliers. Among their many clients are JB Hi-Fi, Noel Leeming, Harvey Norman, EB Games, PB Tech and The Warehouse. Good news indeed.

The company have four distribution divisions; Games & Accessories, Film & Television, Tabletop Games & Collectibles and Cameras & Leisure. They are a family owned company with over 27 years experience working with global partners to provide outstanding service and logistics across Australia and New Zealand. Okay, I've said enough. Let them tell you about themselves.

"We specialize in large volume distribution of major brands across Australia and New Zealand. Our 22,000m² DC facility is located on the northern end of the Gold Coast and has fully integrated logistic solutions for both the Australian and New Zealand marketplaces.

We have been in this business since 1994 and have established long term relationships with Australia and New Zealand’s most reliable freight partners. This enables us to reach all destinations in both territories.

Sales and marketing are managed directly from our offices in both territories, while logistics are handled by our head office team in Queensland."

JBAU have an early Pre-order for Wonka, which has only just released in cinemas.

There is little information on the release and it will be a while before release day. The movie will be distributed by Roadshow for Warner Bros. and, as is the norm with Warner these days; the Standard Edition [AU$39.98] will have the 4K Ultra HD disc only, whilst the SteelBook Edition [AU$44.98] will have both the 4K Ultra HD and a Blu-ray. I'm quite confident that we will get this release in NZ.

As I said in my previous post. Sony are not pulling out of Australia (yet), they are just going to hand over their distribution to All Interactive Distribution who are a big player in Australia and New Zealand. Who knows? they may even secure the rights to Disney product (I can dream ๐Ÿ˜).

None of the big studios have there own distribution centres in Australia any more. Universal/Sony will be the last ones to leave. Roadshow and Via Vision handle most of the others. Universal/Sony are distributor's for Paramount Pictures, so I'm hoping that they will be included in the switch to All Interactive Distribution.

There's a new player in the SteelBook Boutique Labels market. Offering World Exclusive Artwork. UK based Astro Creations have got their first release up for Pre-order. It's a movie that is rated highly on my list of war films and I own it in 4K Ultra HD.

LONE SURVIVOR (2013) will be released on 24th April 2024. There will be two options. One will include the SteelBook with a slipcover and numbering sticker for £24.99. The second option will have a slip box with different artwork to the slipcover and lots of tat, such as an enamel pin, postcards, 48 page production notebook and more. This option is priced at £44.99. They accept international orders and have PayPal and GPay available. The bad news is that shipping costs are horrendous. £22.00 for option one and £28.00 for option two, to NZ.

Here is a note from the owner of the site:-

Astro Creations began as a hobby around full time work commitments. It quickly became apparent the service and quality of products we were producing were a hit among our customer base. This made for an expansion into the world of a fresh look website, multiple social channels and now the long awaited fully licenced retail release! The journey began with custom made items of the highest quality, behind these items we always had a dream to bring these custom editions to the retail market for collectors over the world to enjoy.

Here we are! This is the new home for Astro Creations fully licenced products. I'm excited for you all to see what I've been working on for the last two years, hopefully with you're support we can bring you a new staple UK based premium retailer at affordable pricing.

Astro Creations

I've been trying to purchase the Arrow Video 4K releases of Robocop (1987) and True Romance (1993). They keep appearing on Amazon AU, but I have been turned off by the prices. Today I signed up with Arrow Films UK and got them both for £15 each.

I signed in through my Facebook A/C and ordering was easy peasy. I paid using PayPal, but they also accept most major credit cards. Looking forward to a New Year delivery ๐Ÿ˜ƒ One positive when buying from Arrow or anywhere in Europe; if there is a Blu-ray included it will be Region B if its locked; the same as NZ.
