Awesome news and congrats!

I also cracked (pt.2) and bought another eight on EZYDVD, so that is 25 total.
Hard not to, at those prices.
I’m missing Finding Nemo 4k but i’m sure I’ll locate that in my searches.

Cheers!

Good luck with Finding Nemo. It seems to have gone from everywhere now. I'm still thinking of going back to EzyDVD for one more shot. As you say, its hard to pass them up at those prices, and, like Nemo... once they're gone they won't be returning.

That JB deal is a godsend, ended up getting Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, Harry Potter 8-Film Collection and The Matrix - 4 Film Collection. I still have the Lord of the Rings DVD Extended edition boxset but it seems redundant now.

Is it really worth getting animation (Pixar mostly) in 4K ? I just can't convince myself, all that extra space they take up for mostly HDR...

I bought all of the early ones on Blu-ray SteelBook up to Incredibles 2 which was the first 4K Pixar that I bought. The Blu-rays look great on a good upscaling TV. I’m just filling the gaps in my collection with the 4K releases not upgrading my Blu’s. I recently watched Nemo and Coco and they both looked amazing on Blu. The excellent prices for the 4K editions make it an easy decision when buying newer films.

The prices are good, but I put my movies on Emby and 4Ks take up so much more space, I tend to stick to 4K for classics / epics / boxsets. Think the only 4K animated I have are Toy Story 4 and The Incredibles. So yes live action.

Yes I cracked again today and bought another eight from EzyDVD, One from JBNZ sale and four from Amazon US, which makes me the proud owner on Blu-ray or 4K Ultra HD discs of all of the Pixar feature films except Elemental. I may have to go digital with that one or pay an exorbitant price on ebay.

Just seen that Amazon US and UK have Blu-ray editions of Elemental, which would be acceptable to keep my Pixar physical media collection at 100%. Amazon UK also have a Blu-ray SteelBook available, which has me dithering as so many of my collection are already Blu-ray SteelBook editions. Do I wait for a price drop and risk missing out? £26.99 ATM only £3 more than the standard edition. I did a dummy run to checkout. SteelBook NZ$77.89, including shipping. Too rich for me. I'll put it on my watch list.

The Standard Blu-ray is actually £12 less than the SteelBook. I got my pounds and dollars mixed up 😁

Paramount Pictures are releasing three 4K Ultra HD Limited Edition SteelBook Reprints on 12th March 2024 in the US. Its unlikely that they will be available in Australia/NZ, but stranger things have happened.

Amazon US have all three SteelBooks available for Pre-order. All are priced at US$30.99 and are not yet included in Amazon's free shipping option.

The three films are:-

EVENT HORIZON (1997)

In 2047 a group of astronauts are sent to investigate and salvage the starship ‘Event Horizon’ which disappeared mysteriously 7 years before on its maiden voyage. With its return, the crew of the ‘Lewis and Clark’ discovers the real truth behind the disappearance of the ‘Event Horizon’ – and something even more terrifying.

4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray • Dolby Vision/Dolby True HD 5.1 • 96 mins • 2.35:1

THE RUNNING MAN (1987)

By 2017, the global economy has collapsed and American society has become a totalitarian police state, censoring all cultural activity. The government pacifies the populace by broadcasting a number of game shows in which convicted criminals fight for their lives, including the gladiator-style The Running Man, hosted by the ruthless Damon Killian, where “runners” attempt to evade “stalkers” and certain death for a chance to be pardoned and set free.

4K Ultra HD • Dolby Vision/DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 • 101 mins • 1.78:1

DRAGONSLAYER (1981)

The sorcerer and his apprentice Galen are on a mission to kill an evil dragon to save the King’s daughter from being sacrificed according to a pact that the King himself made with the dragon to protect his kingdom.

4K Ultra HD • Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos • 109 mins • 2.35:1

Okay, I couldn't resist. Browsing the JBAU 30% off sale I decided to try and purchase The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Extended and Theatrical Editions 4K Ultra HD and The Hobbit Trilogy, Extended and Theatrical Editions 4K Ultra HD. To my utter surprise the order was accepted and I was allowed to go through checkout. Including shipping, this was a saving of NZ$42 on the exact same sale items at JBNZ. I just love all of the films, but it was previously too expensive to buy these box sets; now I have 12 months to pay off my credit card 4K purchases from the Boxing Day sales, then I'll do it all over again 😁.
