THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. (2015) 4K Ultra HD • Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos • 2.40:1 • 116 Minutes • July 29th • Pre-order from the Arrow store [£22]

1963: in the thick of the Cold War, roguish CIA agent Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) forms an uneasy alliance with brooding KGB officer Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer) to thwart a criminal organisation with apocalyptic intentions. The rebellious daughter of a missing nuclear scientist (Alicia Vikander) is their only ticket inside the sinister ring - but to whom is she truly loyal? A desperate race against time will determine whether the scientist's atomic research will shatter the delicate balance of power in the world.

A thrilling spy romp with rich period detail and an infectious soundtrack of cool pop classics, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. puts a colourful, contemporary twist on 1960s espionage and delivers pure entertainment with swaggering ease.

Studio Canal are to release UK wide, the following SteelBook:

SOLDIER BLUE (1970) 4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray • 115 Mins • July 15

Controversial upon its release, Ralph Nelson’s Soldier Blue follows Honus (Peter Strauss) and Cresta (Candice Bergen), the only remaining survivors of a Cheyenne Native American attack, as they travel across the unforgiving wilderness of the American frontier in search of refuge. Their journey reaches a tragic climax as they witness the brutal and cold-blooded slaughter of the Cheyenne tribe at the hands of the U.S. army. Reflecting the political climate of the time, Soldier Blue is uncompromising in its anti-war stance and in its extremely graphic depiction of the 1864 Sand Creek Massacre. By shedding light on America’s dark history and the inhumane actions of the U.S. army, this revisionist western is one of the most radical films in American cinema’s history. EXTRAS: NEW Interview with actress Candice Bergen, Audio commentary by film critic Steve Mitchell and Howard S. Berger, NEW Trailer.

The artwork for the JBAU Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire SteelBook looks increasingly like it will be the same as the US Walmart exclusive and the HMV UK exclusive as posted in post  #3212441 but I could be wrong 😁

It's the only SteelBook design announced so far, so, fingers crossed.

Dune: Part Two has now passed the US$700 Million mark worldwide, which should ensure a third film in the series.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is just short of US$520 Million. A great success for the studio.

Kung Fu Panda 4 has also gone above the US$500 Million mark, making for a large profit for Universal/DreamWorks.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire has limped along to US$187 Million which is not quite break even point. Streaming and Media sales should help when the film ends its theatrical run.

I think the phrase for that is blatant favouritism...although if I get mine from Zavvi (in July, not next week), I do get the plus, to me, of it being a 4K / bluray combo set whereas the US ones seem to be either / or, for more money of course 😀

Mind you, Andor plus Amazon US = Aramex, so good luck with that.

So my Amazon order for Andor was shipped today, after being charged for it overnight. It's being sent with season 2 of The Mandalorian which I ordered two weeks ago, and I reckon they'll arrive in about a week. Meanwhile, yesterday I received my order of the steelbook of The Departed, which arrived in perfect condition. I've ordered at least two dozen steelbooks form Amazon over the last year and not one has ever been scratched or dented, which always surprises me considering the horror stories I hear.

Boy and the Heron sighting! Looking forward to this one.

Natural Born Killers scarred me as a child, I was too naive to understand what was going on.. 😆

My non steelbook The Departed has finally made it to the 'In transit to local depot' stage. My only Amazon US item at the moment is with Aramex and is hence, strangely, delayed...

4K Kind Hearts and Coronets (and I Am Legend 4K) arrived today though.

EzyDVD stuff still hasn't arrived from 16th April order, so emailed them today and they sent a link saying that order has also made it to Auckland.

What do folks reckon the chances are of a 30th anniversary edition of The Usual Suspects next year for Australia/NZ or UK? Amazon has 30% off the US KL Studio Classics edition, though it still comes to $45 NZ and blu ray special features will be locked. But tempted to include in next order.

I’m keen to upgrade the old dvd and quite eager for my son to see it before he has it spoiled by TikTok (like many other films), and suspect it won’t get lavish reissues going forward given both Kevin Spacey and Bryan Singer have been stained and cancelled. Case in point, KL didn’t both to wait for the 30th. But most of the studios do love an anniversary.

Anyone know who has the non-US rights to put it out?
Still such a classic film.

The Usual Suspects is a film I watched several times in the mid-late nineties and I recommended it to all of my movie watching friends. Everyone of them loved it. It really is a true classic and I would love to own it on 4K disc media.

A 30th Anniversary Edition would be great, but given the controversies surrounding Spacey and Singer, it seems unlikely, but not impossible. No idea who owns the rights to the film outside of the US. In the meantime I'm going to keep an eye on the KL Classic release. I actually digitize all my Blu-rays, including KL and Shout Factory releases, then I can watch the extras on those discs.

One question remains... "Who is Keyser Söze?" 😏

I don't know for sure, but I would expect that we will. The release date will probably be a couple of weeks after Australia, which would be June 26th. Its such a major release that I would be very surprised if we didn't get it.

I really want the SteelBook as well.
