Common sense is not as common as you think.

Hey!

I work in retail at Noel Leeming,

By far the Samsung series 6+ is alot nicer than the sony for a few reasons..

Alot clearer sharper on the samsung along with higher contrast ratios, a nicer design along with a full 3year repair on site warranty, I only sell samsung at work mainly because they have top of the line panels,

There newer tv's have been effected by the dollar but sony has had a few price increases where samsung havent :)

Before I post a follow up to this thread I must say that the advertising bar on the right hand panel of my Geekzone screen is somewhast distracting given it's an animated image of Peter Leach aka The Mad Buther waving his fingers in the air and extolling the virtues of TelstarClear Pacific... guess you can see the flash banner worked :-)

Righto... we ended up purchasing a Samsung 40 inch Series 6 and paired it with a set of Warfendale Vardus speakers and an Onkyo TX-SR606

Very happy so far, have the MySki HDI plugged in plus the Xbox 360.

I'm developing more questions than answers the more I use the Onkyo so may post a few as a further follow up to this thread.. 95% sure there are Onkyo Home Theater Receiver users lurking about this thread :-)

Harvey Norman, they did a good deal for Easter on the kit.

Have not tried tversity, but using Xbox to play movies at 1080p and they look fine.
