Ok cheers. I'll let you know what happens. I'm currently waiting for the cables so i probably won't be able to tackle this until mid next week.

I'll most likely end up with the Hvr 3000. I'll have a look around the forums to see what i need to do

If you ever wanted to record or watch/record 2 channels on 2 different mux's ie tv2 & tv3 at the same time you will need 2 DVB-S Cards.
I'm using a HVR-3000 (only for DVB-S) & a Nova-S using Win XP Pro & Mediaportal
The HVR-3000 works fine but is overkill for what i'm doing, 2 Nova-S's would have been just fine.

MediaPortal and GB-PVR will allow you to record/watch 2 channels simultaneously provided they are both on the same mux.

Recording only takes disk access. It does not use much CPU at all.

Your PC will handle it sweet as, I'm running a similar setup with 2 DVB-S cards & I can record lots of channels at once no problem at all.
The DVB-S cards record the TS video feed directly on to yor hard drive (So it doesn't use a lot of the CPU)
