I recently bought an EasyCAP USB 2.0 video capture adapter, wanting to record some old VHS tapes to digital. The adapter came with Ulead Video Editor 8 SE editing software. I installed the drivers, connected the adapter to my VCR, and to my USB port on my PC. I installed the software, and started to capture a tape. However, I got no video on the preview window, and when I played it back, all I got was the audio from the tape. There's not much in the way of help documentation that comes with this product. Anyone who ahs an idea of what I might be missing or needing, help!!!

Try using AMcap to see if you get any preview of the incoming video and audio.

Check what device you are capturing from. one of the USB devices I tried made 2 devices, one worked, the other did nothing. It was a 4 input one for CCTV however so this one may be different.

also check that it is on the right input if there is a choise between several.
