I had a working home threatre setup which allowed me to watch tv downstairs on my pc thu an amp until i shifted equipment and now cannot pick up my tv signal on my pc. I know my pc is correct i just need to know how 3 cables connect from the pc to the amp maybe video out/in audio or monitor. My tv and sky is working albeit on video 1 instead of video 2 which may be a cause perhaps but windows media just does not pick up any signal.

Any help would be appreciated as super 14 on the projector screen in sadly missed.

Cheers,

Brian.

Photos of setup (rear connections) or a better description of gear, location etc would help alot.

Pictures will defintely help, it sounds like you are using RCA connectors to go from Video Out and Audio Left and Right to plug into something on your PC. (This is only a guess without images though).

If you can take a picture of the back of the AMP, the cable you have previosuly been using, and the back of the PC I'm sure we'll be able to get it working.

If it IS RCA out then look for Video and Audio OUT from the back of the AMP (usually yellow for video and red and white for audio) then on the PC look for video and audio IN (probably matching colours) then connect these.

If you are using a video and audio out that corresponds to a video input, they are usually deactivated when you select that input, so if you have moved the source from video 2 to video 1 and the cables to the PC are in the output for AV1, it will get nothing showing when AV1 is selected.

Hi Guys,

I tried to get tis working but to no avail. Have posted some photos of my set up and when it was last working... the black cable was in the white upper slot with the 2 blues one next door on the right using AV2 on the tele. Windows media wont pick up the tele signal and i just hope i havnt kinked any cables when i rerouted the wires outside the house when doing renovations. The computer and projector are downstairs.

Any help greatly appreciated
Brian

resize them before uploading? Or else upload to somewhere else and post a link

http://bayimg.com/ works well, or http://tinypic.com/ - no reghistration needed at those. Just dont upload anything identifiable.
