I watched a really interesting doco that screened in the uk a couple of years back about John Logie Baird (the inventor of TV).
The doco was called JLB - the man who saw the future.
It was fascinating - I never realised that he had demo'd and was pushing for a 1000 line colour system shortly before his death in 1946 and also had working prototype 3d tv (that didnt need glasses).

Hmm - back to the future - its taken a while.

3d - not a gimmick once you dont need the glasses.

Yes - I don't like migraines and/or falling down stairs due to messed up depth perception due to dopey glasses.

I don't think the trade-off in image quality is worth it either.

Yes, it didn't make Avatar any better of a movie, I was still bored within the first 5 minutes

Agree with Stevenz about the trade off in res too, would rather jump to 4k x 2k res than 720P 3d..




I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.
