PANiCnz: Personally I'm not a big fan of ATi graphics cards for HD decoding, hear all kind of problems. In my opinion you are better off with an Nvidia GPU.

I have an ATI 4850 that does HD decoding fine..

My media centre has the 785g chipset and I found the hd4200 was definitely running at its top end. It worked but did notice occasional dropped frames and tearing which did not happen with either the 8500GT I was running before or the GT220 that I am now running.

I'm using a 5670 with no issues with any HD content (including Bluray).
I actually went ATI as I had had issues with nVidia rendering video...

Each to their own, eh?

lol, I don't have problem with my nvidia card but it does have troble with CUDA with mediacoder and bababoom lol. One problem I always have trouble with is when I buy a nvidia card is the fan runs a max speed at default on every computer with late drivers any every think lol. But that properly company's like gigabyte and that what change that.
