Sorry mate but your acronyms have me stumped here. Is PSP the game console the kids play? The only games I play are on my iPod. Do you mean it's a remote for a PS3 or for an AV receiver? I don't have a clue what NGP is.

I already have a Logitech Harmony remote as well, but in this context the remote would have to be smart and do two way communication.

SepticSceptic: BTW, what is "HDMI standby pass-through" ? Is it when the AMP is off it still feeds HDMI thru to the TV ? Seems like a good feature if you are just wanting background noise / TV without actually ramping up the entire AV system.

PSP = Playstation Portable, I guess you could call that the "game console the kids play".  If you mean your kids then you should procure it for testing purposes.  It is possible to pair it to your PS3 and use it as a remote screen/control for it via wifi (that's the main reason I bought one, I can control the music from out on the deck).  NGP is just Sony's "Next Generation Portable" console (PSP2).  I actually don't know for sure it will do remote play with PS3, but I don't see why it wouldn't.

Going back to the previous topic about Video upconversion. It's these and other things that are so handy to have in a receiver. You don't realise you'll need them untill you need them. If that makes sence.
I have the Onkyo 507. And didn't realise it has no ADC or upconversion. So when I came to connect my composite sky box to my system I was susddenly hit by the fact that A. I was stuck with the standard signal. And B. I couldn't output through HDMI I had to run a singal RCA for the video direct to the TV. Anmd have to change sources everytime I want to watch TV.. My next purchase will definatly have these features..
