I have a satellite card in my PC which works well. For both viewing and recording I have been using ProgDVB.

However, after installing a subsequent number of updates of ProgDVB the playback audio and video slowly get further and further out of sync.

Oddly though, if I revert back to the 'stable' version of ProgDVB, anything recorded using the updated program will playback perfectly fine!

The stable version is 6.60.2 ... any of the subsequent upgrades cause the out-of-sync problem. I have compared all the codecs being used with both versions and nothing is different there.

Can anyone suggest what is going on and/or a solution please?

Have you tried playing the video back in any other applications?

It's not really possible for it to "record" the video and audio out of sync as the MPEG transport stream is simply dumped to a file, no processing actually occurs. Sync issues are almost certainly the result of the MPEG DEMUX trying to split the audio and video on playback.

Hi, sorry, meant to include that information. Yes, used Media Player CLassic, and also streamed to TV using a media device ... in both instances the out-of-sync problem still exists.

As best I can tell, the video is ahead of the sound.

UPDATE: I think problem has been solved.

Thanks to Steve's pointer to the problem ocurring during playback after using the MPEG DEMUX filter, I changed from Miscrosoft to another demultiplexer and it seems to now be fine.
